THE REST OF CLASS was spent talking about each other's past life. The female vampire was ecstatic at Jasper's genuine interest in her. In the past, people only wanted to talk to her because of her brother or her looks.
"Is there anyone that can stop you?" Jasper questioned. Karina had told Jasper of her troubles with the red liquid that drove all vampires mad.
Him talking to the new girl brought out a rush of confidence that Jasper thought would never in a million years happen. Sure he would talk around his family but Karina . . . she was new and wasn't afraid. Alice looked over to see him laughing, she was already smiling at the sight.
"My parents had some difficulty but Roman, of course after many years he's figured out how to control me. If you are strong enough then you could probably stop me although no other vampire has successfully tried to stop me and if they tried to . . . ckkk!" She drew an imaginary slit across her neck as Jasper smiled, amused very much by the girl.
"You'd drink their blood?" She shook her head.
"No, I find that turned vampires have sour—tasting blood. Vile."
"I'm offended, ma'am." Jasper threw his hand to his forehead dramatically.
"I'm terribly sorry, sir. Though, when my mother and father were alive, they said that you're so—called true love's blood would be sweeter than anything you have ever tasted."
"Ah well, whoever the man is will be the most luckiest in the world."
"You flatter me, Hale. Anyways, tell me, what makes you so dangerous?"
"I was never really taught how to control my blood lust. I was turned by a woman named Maria while I was a Major in the Calgary, she only used me for my tactics and experience in the war. She wanted a coven and I gave her one, hundreds of newborn vampires under our command. I trained them for battle but Maria wouldn't keep them till their first year. I was her prized soldier and her lover but I was foolish enough to believe it. Years later, I left. Because of my ability, I could feel their emotions, I felt their pain as I crushed them with my hands. I've killed so many. My thirst for blood it's . . . devastating," He looked away from Karina who held his hand and assured him that he was fine. "I'm the latest addition to the Olympic Coven which consists of my adoptive parents and siblings whom you may have met or seen."
"Yes, only Carlisle, Esme and Edward, it's been a while since I've seen them," Karina informed, remembering the time when her and her brother first encountered Carlisle in Volterra and Edward while he was on the point of dying.
"Carlisle took care of us after we left the Volturi, we stayed with him and Edward till the nineteen hundreds, helping to form your coven, until Roman felt that it was time to try be independent, see how it would go. We'd make sure to stay in contact with Carlisle, he'd support us every so often when we were in trouble. It's gone well over the years but I miss him. I remember how he fell in love with Esme again and turned Edward," She continued.
