"JASPER, STOP, YOU'RE not strong enough to go after her. She could kill you. I know my sister. I may not be as strong as her but—but—"

Roman's eyes diverted to the blood stains on Jasper's collar before he could finish his sentence. The bite wound where Karina had bitten him hadn't yet healed, which baffled him though merely thought of the fact that she was a pureblood. He pulled his sleeve down, annoyed at Roman for downgrading his own sister.

"So you're saying we should just leave her in the woods? She's your goddamn sister, Roman, don't you care about what could happen to her?" Jasper yelled, Edward holding him back once again.

"Of course I do, damn it!" he snapped, surprising the group. "But you need to give her enough time to calm down or else it'll only end up with her covered in more blood. You need to trust me on this, Jasper, we're more dangerous than you think."

"Oh, yeah? Well, so am I. Alice tell him what happened with Maria and how I was brought up . . . all the people I've killed and how I snapped an innocent kid's neck. I know her well enough to say that she won't end up like that."

"I know how you were brought up. Whenever I'm near you, I sense all this pain, it's so strong, so full of anger. But I'm sorry, no, you don't," Roman argued. "You don't know anything about her. Has she told about the time the Volturi tried taking her away from me? Or the time we fought our own—"

"Enough! We don't need to take things any further," Edward concluded.

"I need to go. Every time I inhale, I have the urge to attack you." Speeding off, Jasper followed the scent of his blood. The smell ended when a strong odour filled his nose, knowing where this was headed if he kept on going.

"Before you say anything, just follow me, okay? I promise you that there will be no harm to you or her." Jacob Black, a descendant of wolves, instructed, gradually stepping away. Jasper followed anyways until he spotted a frail, shaken girl.

"Karina." There she lay on the forest floor, covered by a simple brown jacket and had her eyes closed.

"Hey," Jasper called out softly and as if on command, her eyes fluttered open and in a instant her arms wrapped around Jasper's neck.

"I'm so sorry, I thought I might have killed you. I'm sorry. I'm sorry," she repeated, her grip tightening; she was afraid of letting him go.

"Darlin', I'm fine. Don't cry."

"Hey, look after her alright?" Jacob said as Jasper nodded. Lifting Karina's fragile body, he thanked Jacob for protecting her and headed for the house. Once they reached the residence, Jasper searched the house for Carlisle. Finally finding him in his study, he lay the girl on what looked like a hospital bed.

"Help her."

"Jasper, shouldn't you—"

"Help her, please, Carlisle," he commanded through gritted teeth, his palms were sweaty and without realising, his fingernails were digging into his skin just anxious about her condition.

"She's absolutely fine, there's nothing wrong with her. Her ability to heal is amazing, it's as if nothing even happened. But, what did happen?"

       His jaw clenched in response.

"Five days ago, Karina tried drinking animal blood. She hadn't told any of us, not even her brothers. She felt fine until we were on the school bus and, you can guess what happened after that but no one was hurt."

Carlisle shook his head. "She'll just need to supply on something other than animal blood, of course, to get her to stop the blood lust but . . . why is your blood around her mouth?"

Jasper hesitated for a moment, unsure of what his adoptive father would think if he let Karina drink his blood but yet, she was his friend and he had to.

"I let her drink my blood."

"What? Jasper, she could have killed you," Carlisle said sternly, almost scaring his son.

"Right here," Karina reminded, her voice small.

"But she didn't, Carlisle."

He gripped Jasper's shoulder, looking at him whereas he had his eyes on Karina.

"You need to be careful, always think about what you're going to do before doing it. She's capable of many things that you are not aware of, Jasper." He nodded slowly, taking in Carlisle's warnings.

The past years Jasper had been careless with his actions, and didn't seem to care about other people and what they would think.
But as there coven became bigger and even more dangerous he had to be more careful since because then, their love for each other was dangerous . . . the both of them.
