CHAPTER FOUR

JASPER WATCHED EDWARD panic at the sight of the unique human, covering his mouth and nose. His reaction was due to Isabella Swan, or Bella, another new student who had arrived from the sunny Arizona. Jasper caught her scent as she slowly walked past a moving fan, the scent of lilacs and freesias filling his nose.

       "Can you bear children?"

       "Jasper, what kind of question is that?" Karina chuckled as Jasper shrugged.

       "A very interesting question, I know that our kind can't but how about you?" She explained to him how pure vampires were able to have children and turned ones aren't due to the way the body formed while transforming into a vampire and since pure vampires have stronger bodies and different and advanced cells that are different to those of a turned vampire. They would try to conceive as much as they could in order to long out the pure line. It was rare nowadays due to certain circumstances which was why purebloods decreased gradually.

"My mother nearly died giving birth to me. It took a toll on her strength to make sure we both made it out. It was a miracle she bore four children."

       "Must be why you're so full of passion, Karina," Jasper shortly answered with a smile but his face suddenly changed to a concerned look. "Wait, four children?"

Karina diverted her eyes to where his were. It was Edward. She excused herself from Jasper and slid over to his table.

       "I'm Karina, nice to m—meet you," The girl introduced, the sudden hit of her divine blood taunting her causing her to stutter helplessly.

       "Hey, I'm Bella. Bella Swan," The sullen girl said as if trying to avoid any sort of chatter.

       "Don't mind him, he can get a bit weird, right, Edward?" Karina chuckled lightly as Edward vigorously nodded, swiftly covering his nose and mouth as if he were struggling to breathe.

      "Wait, your eyes. I swear they were, like, dark but now they're red, blood red?" Bella noticed, narrowing her eyes to try and get a closer look but Karina averted her eyes to the other direction and replaced Bella's suspicion with a stupid excuse.

"It's the lights," Karina excused, such a silly answer yet she believed it and continued to do whatever she was doing before.

       "Edward, what's wrong?"

       "Her blood. I want it, I want to kill her so I can have it all and I'll kill everyone in this class so they don't tell anyone."

       "Don't, Edward, you're strong enough to prevent that from happening."

       "I know. I'm sorry, Karina."

Edward swiftly picked his books up and left, the bell ringing just moments after. Bella seemed confused but also hurt that she was treated that way by him especially on her first day.

       "Don't worry about him. I'll see you later?"

       "Right, sure. It was nice meeting you, Karina."

       "You too, Isabella!" she smiled who noticed Bella's faint frown due to Karina calling her Isabella.

       "What happened with Edward?" asked Karina's brother as the four walked out of the class huddled together like penguins.

       "The new girl. Bella Swan. There's something about her that's making him go crazy. I think it's her blood, I can smell it, it's so pure and sweet," Karina informed, noticing Edward beside her.

He kept his eyes fixed on the floor like he was afraid of of locking eyes with anyone or more specifically, Bella.

       "Are you okay?" Alice asked, worried for her brother.

       "I'm better than before but it's neither yes or no," he replied and the group heard nothing more from him as the day went on.

sorry for an incredibly short chapter.

i just wanna say that apparently there's no actual origin story of vampires so i came up with this 'pure vampire' race of unbitten vampires. and yes, they are able to give birth n before you ask questions , how was bella able to become pregnant when edward's 'dead? surely he isn't able to produce sperm right? oh well.
