Okay so this is completely inspired by the Forest Fic and I feel like the phandom needs this.

(Dan's POV)

Age 6

I was sitting in the lounge with Mum and Dad, she and him were cooing over her belly. She had told me I was a big brother, but I didn't quite get what that had to do with her belly, or where my baby sibling was at. But I didn't question it, my life was already hard. I started Primary school, that meant I was a big kid, all grown up. Soon I could move out and get my own money.

"Mum? Can I go out to the playground?" I set my crayons down and looked at her.

"Yes dear, but be back by dark, okay?" She looked up from her belly and smiled. I nodded and ran out the door.

Phil was always at the playground. He says that's where he always is. He can't tell me where he lives though, so I don't ask.

"Dan!" I turn and see Phil on the slide. I smile and climb up to the jungle gym, hugging the dark blonde haired boy.

"Hi Philip." I smiled widely at him. "How was your day?"

"Quite bad.." He sat down on the plastic floor, and so did it. "Mum and dad are arguing again. Martyn is staying away more, too."

"So just come here more!" I said with a smile.

"Will you be here...?" He asked hesitantly. I nodded with a smile.

Ever since that day, I had been meeting Phil there everyday.

Age 14

"Mum please!" I whined. "Why can't I go?"

"Because you're getting to old for the playground." She said in a baby voice. She was feeding Adrian and looking at him, but talking to me. "Besides, when do I get to meet Phil?"

I shrugged, leaning against the counter. "Whenever he comes over."

"Well until then no playground, you're not a child anymore." With that she stopped arguing with me, and went back to singing to Adrian. I groaned and went to my bedroom. Phil would be upset, I knew it. Phil would be hurt, he'll hate me... He's gonna hate me I jus-

There was a knock on my window.

I looked at it, to see the brown haired teen boy. He smiled and waved. I opened the window, and he climbed in.

"Mum says I can't go to the playground anymore, " I told him as I sat on my bed.

"She's being...." He snapped a few times. "Annoying!"

I laughed and nodded. "Yes, annoying. And rude. And irritating."

"Irritating?" He tilted his head. "That's like... Worse than annoying right?"

"Yep." I sighed and rested my head in my hands. "She doesn't even bother to talk to me... Ever since her and dad got divorced she keeps all focus on her precious baby."

I was pulled in a tight hug, and I hugged my only friend back just as tight. He kissed my forehead and sighed.

"It'll be alright, Dan." He said softly. I just shrugged. "I gotta go, your mum's coming. I'll be back tomorrow."

"Dan.. Who were you talking to?" Mum looked at me from the door.

"No one." I replied. She furrowed her brows and slowly walked away.

Age 16

"What's it like where you live?" I asked Phil. We laid together on my bedroom floor, looking at the ceiling, searching for nothing.
