Chapter 10: The First Task

   Ever since Sev told me the truth, I avoided Harry and his friends until I could perfect my Occulamency skills.

"Lily, can you help me?" A voice called out. I turned in the hall to find Fleur calling me.

I smiled, "of course. What do you need help with?"

"Strategy plans. I discovered what the first task is." Fleur said in a rush.

"Tell me." I replied.

"Dragons. Nesting dragons." Fleur said in a rush. I stopped short.

"I can help. Come on, let's go!" I exclaimed running to the library.

When we got inside, I stared at her. "You're part Veela right?"

"Oui, where are you going with thiz?" Fleur asked confused.

"Hold on!" I said excitedly running to the hypnotizing section. I set down a thick book and began flicking through it furiously.

"Ah ha, here! It says Veela are very good with Trance work. You can put the dragon into a trance!" I exclaimed.

"Merci, Lily! I 'ave work to do." Fleur replied gliding away.

"Focus!" I heard Hermione hiss.

I came over to find my brother and Hermione working on some spells.

"Need some help?" I asked at once.

The two looked at me and smiled. "Lily!" Harry beamed coming to hug me.

"Do you know how to do the Summoning Spell?" Hermione asked.

I turned to a shelf, aiming my wand at a book. "Accio book!" The book flew to my outstretched hand.

"Can you help us?" Harry asked eagerly.

"Of course I can." I beamed. The First Task is only 2 days away. The classes have been so easy, I know I inherited my mums brains.

"Come on, to the Common Room." Hermione said starting off.

"Actually, Professor Snape promised my guardian that he'd look after me this year. He forbids me to go in any Common Rooms, sorry."

The two looked at each other surprised. "No, I can't disobey him. He'd send me home before I could blink. I can help you here."

"Flick your wand Harry, and think only about the it's  want to come to you." I explained.

Harry took my advice allowing the book to soar into his hand. "Thanks!" Harry said reaching for a high five.

I reached revealing my left palm. "Are you sure this is  a birthmark? It looks like my scar." Harry replied narrowing his eyes.

"You obviously got the hang of it. I'd better go." I said fleeing from the spot. "Wait, why are you practicing Summoning?" I asked turning around.

"So I can get my Firebolt." Harry replied.

"You're going to fly?! That's brilliant. I'll be in the crowd, cheering! Good luck tomorrow!" I exclaimed hugging him tightly.

Before I knew it, it was the morning of the First Task. Harry looked ready to collapse. He looked exhausted. Fleur, she looked a bit queasy, but maintained her graceful posture.

"Champions, it's time to head on down!" Albus announced.

"Good luck Harry!" I yelled as the Champions went a separate way.

I sat with Ron and Hermione in the stands. 5 minutes later, I saw a blueish dragon and Cedric appeared in the arena. The first thing he did was to transfigured a rock into a labrador. The dragon fell for it, but not for long. However by the time the dragon attacked, Cedric got the golden egg.

Fleur was next facing off with a green dragon. She closed her eyes, and began to speak in her Veela language. Slowly but surely, she had the dragon under her spell. While it was confused, Fleur dashed under grabbing the egg.

Next to come out was Krum. He didn't hesitate, he shot a spell into the dragons eye which made the dragon trample the real eggs, but he got his in the end.

Last came my brother. As soon as he saw the dragon he raised his wand summoning his Firebolt. It was over in minutes. My brother was given the score of 40, he was tied with Krum! I ran down to the first aid tent with Hermione, Ron grudgingly in tow.

When he finally came out, I hugged him tightly. "Congrats Harry!"

For some reason, Ron got jealous that Harry got picked and not him, however they made up.

"Harry? How're you feeling now? Any comments on the scoring?" Rita asked popping out of no where.

"You can have a word, goodbye." My brother said walking right past her.
