They had fun last night.
After years of going through endless torture from his parents, and a year of living alone with no one to talk to, josh had fun.
And after years of sitting there crying gently as he heard his mom and a random stranger every night and having to come back to the hellhole, Tyler had fun.
They watched movies and talked, laughed, joked, ate all the food in the house, and even stayed up late at night so Tyler could vent. Soon enough it was morning and Tyler was packing his belongings in ratted up suitcases, preparing for the move to josh's.
Tyler's mom cried a little in her room. She felt bad that she raised a son who hated her, she never spent time with him but instead spent her days getting wasted. Then she didn't feel bad, she had no regrets. She knew if she gave him her extra car he wouldn't yell at her or anything.
So, she walked to his room with a leap in her step and a pair of keys in her hand.
Something hit Tyler's head as he heard the door close. He tilted his head up to see if anyone was there, but the door closed quietly and he could only see his mothers long, slender hand. A pale strip across her finger from where her ring used to be. He looked down to see what hit him, right by his leg there was a black shiny key. Realization took over his mind and his whole face lit up looking at the key. "Thank you mom!" He cried out, dangling the keys in front of josh's face. "Looks like we won't have to carry all my things clear across town." Josh and Tyler smiled.
Josh saw his eyes and looked into them by accident. They were such a nice color, deep chocolate brown with lighter brown around the pupils. His eyes were so pretty. Josh's eyes were brown too, but definitely not as gorgeous. He saw that they were making eye contact and quickly looked away. "You ready?" Josh asked, Tyler nodded.
Josh helped Tyler load his things into the car and soon was showing the way there.
In less then 15 minutes Tyler was looking at a small tan house. "This is a nice house," Tyler dragged his bag to the front door and josh nodded at him to go in. He sighed, "Sorry it isn't much."
"No its fine!"
"You can put your stuff in the empty room. Its upstairs. I'll make us some lunch."
"Josh."
"Yeah?"
"I just wanna say thank you for letting me stay here. A-and there's something I wanna talk to you about later..."
"We can talk about it after dinner if you want."
"S-sure." Tyler grabbed his stuff and raced upstairs. There were three doors, he opened the first one and it led to a bathroom, the door in the middle led into Josh's room covered in band posters and very clean, he finally walked into an empty one. The only thing that one had was a bed.
He set his stuff down and sighed. He could wait until after dinner. He was scared to talk to josh about what he wanted.
"Lunch is done (dun)" josh called.
Tyler walked down the steps and took a deep breath. He wanted to get it over with so as soon as him and josh was sat down he started talking.
"Josh, I'm gay." He blurted out. That was not at all what he was going to say. He was going to originally ask him on a date, but they've only seen each other face to face two days know. He didn't want to rush this, it might just be a small crush.
"That's okay ty. I am too."
"You are?"
"Yeah." He put his hand in his own hair and yawned, stretching a little.
"Tired?" Tyler asked.
"Yeah I mean, we did stay up until 3:00 in the morning."
Tyler giggled, "sorry"
"There's nothing to be sorry about, it was worth it." They made eye contact again. Tyler studied his eyes as if he was studying for a test.
He saw dark eyes, basically a window to his dark soul. Josh's eyes shine a little. Tyler smiled and he couldn't stop.
