Chapter 12

Chapter 12- Not exactly heartbroken

Clary's pov-

"PLEEEEEEASE!"

"BRODY! I already said NO! we are not breaking them up. Jace seems happy with her and that's all I want is him happy." Brody had been begging me to help him break up Jenna and Jace for the last half an hour.

"You and I both know that's not all you want." Brody said with wink. I glared at him and turned away.

"Please Clary, I like her and I think she might like me too. I just need to get her away from Jace and you want him back anyway!" I rolled my eyes and walked into the bathroom leaving the door open.

Brody walked over and leaned against the door frame listening as I brushed my hair. "Maybe you should try to make a move then. If she does like you, she will end things on her own. If you break them up and she ever finds out, you don't know how she'll respond." he nodded in agreement.

"You can hang out with her and make your move while Jace and I are out later running errands for Izzy." I told him.

"He looked like the rat in Ratatouille!" I said while laughing with Jace. "Ya either that or the ugly chef." he responded as we walked down the hallway towards my room.

We got to the door and I opened it with my key. we laughed as we walked in but we froze when we looked towards the bed.

There, making out on the bed, was Brody and Jenna. "Brody! This is not what I meant by make a move!" I yelled as they looked over to us. "What?" Jace asked me confused.

"Uh oh....maybe we should go downstairs and talk." I said. He nodded slowly and followed me. We walked in silence down to the pool area which was luckily empty.

Neither one of us was saying anything as we sat with our feet in the pool. "I'm sorry." I said. "You told Brody to make a move? I thought you were dating him?" Jace said staring into the water. "He came with me to Hawaii because I was nervous about seeing you and then when I saw you with Jenna I panicked and we pretended like he was my boyfriend.

"He told me today that he was starting to like Jenna, he wanted my help to break you guys up but I said no because you seemed happy. I told him to make a move and tell her how he feels and let her decide what to do but I guess he took that as 'sleep with her'. I'm sorry that she cheated on you."

Jace just started laughing. He noticed the strange look I was giving him and he explained. "Jenna came here with me for support as well. I saw you walk in with Brody and told Jenna to act like we were together. So ya, I'm not exactly heartbroken over this." I laughed with him at how crazy this whole thing was.

The laughter died down and we both looked at the water. I just noticed how close he was sitting to me and I looked up towards him.

He was already looking at me.

His eyes glanced down towards my lips and back up. We started leaning in and right as our lips were about to meet....my phone echoed through the pool area. I leaned away and picked up the phone.

"Hello?...Hey Iz....Iz...Calm down....ok ok!....I'll be there in a minute." Izzy was calling me. "Izzy's freaking out about something and wants me to come to her room, I'll see you tomorrow though." I said as I stood up and left.

I got up to Izzy's room and knocked on the door. She pulled it open and pulled me in. Before I could say anything she cut me off.

"I think I'm pregnant."
