Why are you here ?

Maya Pov

I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock going off. I turned it off waiting for Riley to call me. After 10 minutes she didn't , so I started to get ready.
When I was ready to go I looked at my phone, no messages , that was weird. Riley has called me every morning since 7th grade , and it's 9th grade, the end of 9th grade.
I decided to go over to her house anyway. I knocked on her door and Topanga told me that she headed off to school with Lucas . She ditched me for Lucas, I couldn't believe she walked to school with him and didn't ask me to help her ready.
So, I ended up walking to school bh myself . When I got to school , like usual Riley, Lucas ,and Farkle were talking . I walked behind Farkle. It took Riley five minutes to notice me , then she finally said " Hey Peaches ! " she gave me a nervous grin because she knew I was upset . I gave her a simple smile and sat down on a bench. I felt betrayed .
When we went to lunch , I quickly ate my food . When I was done I walked around the school by myself. I ended up going into the seniors hall. The bell rung so I ran off back to the freshman hall. I barely made it in time , but as I made it in Riley and Lucas were laughing . And she was sitting in my seat. She looked at me and quickly jumped back into her seat . " Maya ! Hey ! Sorry I thought you left , I didn't know you were here. " she said all apologetic even though the first glance she gave me when she saw me was " I'm not moving " but it quickly changed because she's scared of me .
" Do you always sit in my seat when I'm not here ? " I asked quickly .
"Yes" she said in a doubtful voice .
" oh ." I quickly sat down . I didn't look at any of them for the whole period until  the end of the class, when a tall , slim , dark skinned boy with brown eyes and dark hair came into the room.
" Hi I'm Zay Beabinuex and I'm a new student . " he said and shook Cory's hand .
" You're late. " Cory said .
" Yes sir I'm sorry I was lost "
"It's ok  take a seat behind that young man over there " Cory pointed to a seat behind Farkle .
" Yes sir ! " Zay looked at me and gave a little smirk and sat down at his desk.
"So , Zay , tell us a little about yourself." Mr. Matthews said.

" Well , sir . Uh , let's see . I came from Austin, Texas . "

"From where Lucas came from?" Riley said in a excited tone giving me a smile that made me wanna push her down because now she was acting like my friend.

"Yeah , me and Lucas were actually friends. "

Riley , Farkle and I looked over to Lucas at the same time.

"Were . " Lucas said in a clear gerk tone. Zay looked kind of upset when he said that.
" No , bro what ever happened to us ? I thought we were cool ? " Zay said confused and so fast you could barely understand. Lucas was pissed . He stood up right in front of Zay .
"You got me expelled!" Lucas yelled with full anger in his voice. Riley looked at Lucas in complete shock with me and Farkle looking confused. Zay didn't look scared , he had a look on his face that made him look like he was used to it. Was he ? I started to doubt everything about Lucas and everything he's said when Cory pulled him away from Zay and told him to go outside." How do you guys know eachother?" Cory asked after Lucas left the room.
" We were best friends last year . I got into some trouble , being the good friend he is , he helped me. And he got expelled. That's why he came here , to New York."
"Lucas got expelled ! " Riley said in shock. Bit Mr Matthews seemed to know .
" Yes , Riley. " Mr Matthews said .

" And you knew about this ! "

"Of course , it was on his record when he came here."

"Why didn't you tell me ?! "

" Because Riley , it's not any of your business ! "

" So he's my best friend , I should know !"
 
   Ouch. That hurt....

" It doesn't matter . Even if I was to tell you I wouldn't know how or the story so I didn't want you to judge him because I didn't know what he did or why!" You could tell Cory was getting upset. Riley gad no emotion she stared at her dad as she got up and walked out . Not even once looking at her so called "bestfriend".
"Dangggg! Drama!" Zay said ; which kinda lightened up the mood. I looked at Mr Matthews who was giving me a "fix it " look.
I stood up and ran out the back door. I saw Lucas sitting by the door looking upset. I knew I should've been looking for Riley but I was mad at her. So I decided to help her " bestfriend". "What's up cowboy ?" He looked at me and shrugged. "Aw , feel better " I said in a puppy tone and patted his head . I sat down beside him and put my head on his shoulder. " Have you seen Riley?"  I asked.
"Yeah ." He said pointing down the hall. "She didn't even look at me ." I sat up and started walking down the hall. I looked back and told Lucas " you know she has a crush on you right."
"I know ."
I completely turned around .
"You knew?"

"Yeah ."

"So why didn't you ask her out?"

"Cause I like someone else."

"Who?"

" I mean I love her as a friend  just -"

"Who ?"
