Breaking Free

Messed up Riley

As I came around the corner I came to Riley as an ugly sight. I did not feel like dealing with right now, and of course she had to make it worse.

She was crying

"Hey honey ," I said trying my best to like I wasn't mad and soothing " what's wrong? ".

Riley sniffed and wiped her nose with her sleeve. " How could he , " her voice broke on he " How could he do this to me Maya? "

"What did he do ?" I asked trying to sound concerned even though I would've loved to walk away and talk about it the next day.

"He lied! "

"Lied?"

" Yes! "

"How?"

" He lied about who he was . He made himself sound like a good guy even though he's not! " I sat down beside her against the sophomore lockers.

"Everybody has done something bad Riley, everyone does at least one thing bad."

" Maya he got expelled! "

I had to think for a comeback while she started sobbing . I patted her head and strokes her wet cheek as I said " So, " I giggled a little to try to lighten the mood . " I've been suspended before. " All I can say is I remember what and awful time that was. I started a food fight in the cafeteria.

" Suspened, Maya not expelled. "

I sighed " You heard that new kid Zay, he got into some trouble, and Lucas helped him out of it , and Lucas need up having to take the blame. " Why couldn't she have just listened to Zay in the first place. She was probably looking into Lucas dreamy eyes , and questioning everything about him, just like me.

"So?" Riley said with me off in space, too zoned to notice. " Maya! " she yelled which made me jump.

"So?" I said back quickly as defense , a little startled.

" He still lied . " Riley started sobbing again .

"He never lied , he just didn't tell the truth ."

Riley straightened up and wasn't crying anymore after a few minutes. " So he was keeping secrets from us , so much better. " She said with sarcasm in the end . And that got me super mad. How dare she say that she has been keeping secrets from me for who knows how long - I admit not big ones like Lucas' but secrets- I am starting to admire Lucas for keeping that secret for so long , he would've kept it longer too if it wasn't for Zay.

I turned around to completely face Riley. "How dare you say that!"

Riley looked shocked and somewhat frightened . " Say what? "

"You have no right to say all that secret crap about Lucas if you've kept secrets about stuff to me!"

" like what ? "

I have her a dirty look that made everything jog her memory without me having to say the only one I know about. Thank God I didn't cause I only knew one , I just knew there were more.

" I'm really sorry , Maya . " she said apologetic, and I believe bed her I just had to get it all out.

"You ditched me this morning for Lucas!" Riley shuddered, I knew she was still upset with Lucas , but she wasn't as upset as before so I could take her back to Cory after this argument .

"Are you really upset about that , I'm sorry I didn't know."

" I wouldn't have been if you've hadn't  been my alarm clock for almost three years, and I wish you would've told me instead of me having to walk all the way to your house and back , and almost getting here late , aside from the fact when I got here it took you about five minutes to notice even though I was across from you behind the person you were talking to , but still in seeing range! " Phew , I felt a lot a better . I needed to take a long deep breath. When I looked at Riley she looked shocked, then I realized I have never blown up on her.

A tear fell down Riley's face, which made me start crying because Riley never meant to hurt my feelings and I never meant to hurt hers. I was also crying because it felt so good to get all the drama off my chest.

" I-I-I I'm so sorry, Maya. So sorry Maya. I didn't know. " she said starting to cry as much as me .

"I- I - I - it's okay , I should've said something." Next thing we know we both were crying our  hearts out and I'm a big hug.
Eventually we stood up still having tears falling down our faces and walked down to the freshmen hall . We found Lucas sitting there in the same spot before with Cory/Mr.Matthews standing above him asking him questions , I think. Riley and me were holding hands and with her right sleeve she wiped away her tears . I did the same but with my left.

Mr. Matthews looked up to see Riley and he jogged over to us and asked " What's wrong? "

Me and Riley both shrugged. Mr. Matthews steered Riley to the bathroom cause she wouldn't of thought of that by herself. Mr. Matthews said to Lucas " I'm not done with you. I have to go to the office and I should be back in ten to fifteen minutes , when that bell rings you don't move.
As Riley and Mr. Matthews disappeared, me and Lucas were the only ones in the hall, sitting and standing there. I slowly walked over to Lucas hearing my black boot-like heels clank on the ground  following where I walked. As I sat down beside Lucas , the bell ring which meant , he probably had about ten minutes until Cory came back. As we saw everyone come out the back door because the front was still locked, I saw Zay walk by and give Lucas an apologetic look , which made him try to get up but I put my arm in front of his chest so I would make him bounce back. As I put my arm down Zay have me a smirk . I put my head down looking at my jeans with the cute rips in the thigh area and blushed . As I looked up back at Lucas ,blushing, I saw Lucas coming at me , leaning in, coming so close I could hear him breathing.

Hey guys I hoped you like this chapter more and sorry if I upset any of u with the Lucaya does earlier , but I mean it's a book I gotta make you wanna read the next chapter. Now the next chapter is gonna be pretty short unlike this only . Because this one was 10,44 words which was a decent chapter for word pad.
