Let's Kiss and Not Tell - Chapter 6

As we kissed , we kept a smooth , soft pattern . We faced each other.  Butterflies , swarms of butterflies went through my body . But not normal , sickening butterflies . Butterflies that made you go numb , a good soothing numb . Warmth filled my body. I put my arms around his neck and he put his hands on my hips. We kissed for about 30 seconds to one minute. But it felt so much shorter. As our faces disconnected, I blushed and put hair behind my ear. We sat there for a few minutes , doing nothing . I was thinking about our kiss , kissing , our smooth soft pattern.

" We can't tell anyone about this! " I said , standing up.

" Why not ? " Lucas asked standing up , too.

" Because , Riley ." I said knowing he'd understand.

" I know , but I don't wanna not be with you . "

" At least for a while , we'll tell eventually . Just for now . "

" Yeah , okay . " He said getting closer , putting his hands on my shoulders . " But , just for now , right ?" He asked

" Yes just for now . " I promised and assured him .

" Good . " He said pulling me into a hug . He slid his hands past my shoulders all the way until they were around my waist. I pulled my arms around his neck and stood onto my tip toes.

" Riley ! " I yelled into his ear on accident . I pulled his arms off mine and ran . Then I ended up coming back to a really confused Lucas because I left my pink bomber jacket on the concrete .

" What-" Lucas started to say but I cut him off .

" I told Riley I would be back at her house soon I gotta go , bye !" I said running away.

When I got to Riley's apartment I opened the door to Josh and Riley singing karaoke .

" Maya ! What took you so long ? " Riley asked.

" I had to talk to Lucas ." I said.

" Bout' what?"

I hesitated ." Zay  ."

Her jaw dropped. " You had the guts to ask ?"

" Y-Yeah ."

" What'd he say ?" Riley asked .

" Same as Zay , but more detailed . I'll talk to you later about it ."

" Kay ."

" Kay."

I sat on the couch while Josh turned off the karaoke machine . He came down and sat by me. I'll be honest , it was hard not jump on his back. He smiled at me , I smiled back .

" How was today ? " Josh asked

" Pretty good I guess , got out early and got "juicy deets!" I said the end with a girly girl mimic .

" Nice !" He said awkwardly .

" Maya ! " Riley yelled from the kitchen .

" Huh !? " I quickly turned around.

" You're lip gloss ! It's smeared ! Did you sneeze ?" She asked coming towards me.

I hesitated , " Y- Yeah ." I lied . Riley shook her head and made a kind of clicking sound.

My phone started buzzing but it was on the kitchen counter . Riley and I sound exactly the same on the phone. So I asked Riley" Can you get it since you love talking on the phone and I'm too lazy?"
