I speed down the first half of the wooden stairs then creep down a few more before I'm yanked back and pressed against the wall with Grayson's hand over my mouth. "Let me go first, you don't know who it is." He tells me in a quiet yet stern voice before removing his hand.

"You think I can't handle myself if someone broke in?" I question.

"I never said that."

"Well you implied it." I state. "Hey person who broke into my home!-" Once again I'm cut off by his hand.

"Are you crazy?" Grayson snaps before running down the second half of the stairs and into the kitchen which is where the noise came from, I follow a few centimetres behind him to see Ethan in my house.

"How did you get in?" I question.

"You should probably lock your door before you go to bed." Ethan scoffs.

"Well what are you doing here?" I ask.

"You made breakfast for us yesterday so I figured I do it today." Ethan says.

"And that crash?"

"Turns out I'm not good at making breakfast, I broke a plate."

Grayson grabs my hand and pulls me through the door and into the living room before holding my shoulders. "What you did before was incredibly stupid." He tells me. "What would you of actually done if someone broke in?"

"Well I'd probably be dead by now." I scoff.

"This isn't funny." Grayson snaps.

"Next time don't be the hero, I'm very determined and independent, I can do anything you can, include fight off a burglar." I explain.

"Fine go fight off Ethan." Grayson orders.

"You want me to fight your brother?" I question.

"Yep, off you go."

"Fine, but then you have to admit you were wrong." I state, strutting back into the kitchen.

"How do you like your eggs?" Ethan asks. My response to that question was a kick in the shin which hurt me way more than him.

"Fuck! Ow!" I exclaim, hopping around on my good foot and clutching to my sore one.

"Can I ask why?" Ethan laughs.

"No, you cannot." I reply, sitting on the table.

"She thought she could fight you off if she had too." Grayson answers which sends Ethan into a fit of laughter which Grayson joins him in.

"Well that was incredibly rude." I scowl from the table.

"You kicked me in the shin, that would never win you a fight." Ethan chuckles.

"Well I could of gone for the knee in the balls but I figured that'd just be mean but keep laughing and see what happens."

"Feisty." Ethan winks, causing me to roll my eyes.

"Ready to admit you were wrong yet?" Grayson asks.

"I would never admit that in a month of Sundays." I state.

"A month of Sundays?" Grayson questions.

"I've never heard that in my whole life!" Ethan exclaims.

"Then you've never lived." I laugh.

"Bro we need to get ready for school." Grayson says.

"Fun."

"How is school fun?" I question Ethan.

"Because I couldn't find Matt last night so I can kick the crap out of him today."
