I don't sleep all night, tossing and turning, I cannot get comfortable not only in bed but in my mindset. I can't believe I kissed Ethan back, I've never done anything like that before. What is wrong with me?
Morning soon comes around and the birds begin chirping. I eat my cereal at the table, staring blankly out the glass backdoor and into my garden. "Hey." Grayson smiles, letting himself in with the key I gave him.
He greets me with a kiss on the cheek before sitting opposite me at the table. "So Ethan let you back inside?"
"Yeah. We think the video will do well, our viewers love pranks which made it slightly easier for me to forgive him along with the fact that he took me for pizza after." Grayson explains.
"Cool." I reply, taking my now empty bowl to the dishwasher and putting it inside.
"Are you okay?" Grayson asks from behind me, putting his hands on my hips. "You seem different, worried."
"I'll tell you later. What did you come over for?" I ask, walking out of his grasp.
"Well our flights are booked for tomorrow morning so I came to help you pack." He replies.
"Flights?" I question.
"Does Italy ring a bell?" Grayson scoffs.
So much happened yesterday I completely forgot about everything else. "We need to talk." I sigh, taking his hand and leading him into the living room where we sit on the sofa. He stares into my eyes however I try to avoid eye contact at all costs.
"Are you alright?" He asks, holding my thighs and pulling me closer to him so that my legs are loosely around his waist and one of his legs are off the sofa and the other round the side of me.
"I can't go on that trip with you." I tell him.
"Why?" He asks, shocked. He turns my chin up to look at him. "Was Ethan right? Did you want Paris instead? Because I can change-"
"No Grayson it's nothing like that." I say, interrupting him by running my thumb gently along his bottom lip.
"Then what?" He asks, holding my hands between both of us.
"Ethan and I... well... last night we kissed." I struggle to explain, Grayson drops my hands and stares forward at me.
"Tell me this is a joke." He grumbles.
"I can't." I sigh, my eyes welling up. Grayson swings his leg out from under me and stands up. He paces around for a few seconds before grabbing my wrists and pulling me on to my feet.
"Who kissed who?" He asks.
"Ethan kissed me but-"
"Of course he did, but that doesn't mean anything I knew he'd try to kiss you-"
"Grayson," I sigh, one tear finally falling from my eye and drizzling down my cheek. I gently place my hands on the back of his neck, the tips of my fingers under the collar of his shirt. "I kissed him back."
"No." Grayson says, grabbing my elbows and pulling my hands off him. "No you didn't."
"I'm sorry." I say breathlessly, another tear falling. I see his eyes well up but then they stop and anger takes over.
"Kristen you didn't do this to me." Grayson says quietly, slowly moving me backwards. I feel my back press against the wall.
"It wasn't meant to happen and I know that isn't an excuse. I am so sorry."
"No!" Grayson yells, punching the wall a little above my head which makes me flinch.
"Hey!" Ethan shouts, shoving Grayson away from me.
"I really wouldn't come near me if I were you." Grayson threatens.
"I really wouldn't come near Kristen if I were you." Ethan spits. "You almost hit her with that punch."
"Ethan it's okay." I say, stepping between the enraged boys. "Grayson would never hurt me."
"He could." Ethan snaps, not taking his eyes off Grayson.
"But he wouldn't, please just go back home. We need to finish talking." I plead.
