Kaitlyn's POV

It had been a few hours since Annie and I had left for Nahakra. Annie hadn't said much since we left O'khasis but, I wasn't worried because she was extremely quiet.

"Hey so, what is there to do in Nahakra?" I asked Annie.

She looked over at me and quietly said, "There are a lot of booths and stores there, It's mainly a merchant town but that's why they have to massive thieve's guild there."

"So do you think we'll have time to shop there?" I asked her.

She shrugged her shoulders, causing a strand of hair to fall over her face. She quickly moved it back behind her ear and looked down at the floor of the carriage.

We were silent for the rest of the journey. The only sounds that could be heard were Annie tightening the drawstring of her bow and me sharpening my weapons. I looked over at Annie. She was tall for an 18-year-old and was shy around other people. According to some of the people I asked who lived in O'khasis, she wasn't always this quiet. Apparently, before she was a few months away from turning 16, she was outgoing and happy. I asked what happened but didn't get any answers. Until one day, I asked and the response I got shocked me. Her brother was killed and the man who killed him was never found.

I decided not to bring it up with Annie so I dropped it and tried to forget, but I couldn't.

We arrived in Nahakra Village a few hours later and it was giant. Annie had warned me before we left to look out for anyone suspicious because of the thieves guild here. After seeing the size of the village, I decided I would take her advice.
