-Linnea-

I walk away from my school finishing my classes for the day.

Within my hands I held the clothing I had borrowed from the boy at Mrs.Malson's and I plan to return them before I head home.

The familiar chime of bells sounds as I push the door open.

"Welcome home honey. I haven't seen you in a while." She greets me with a glass of brown alcohol in her fingertips.

"Yea, I have been pretty busy." I say sitting down at a table with her.

"I hope Bea isn't riding you too hard." she says with attitude.

I sit and remember the last time I spoke to her, it was when I told her off. She hasn't said a word to me since.

"No shes fine, Hey I was wondering if that boy is home. You know, the one I borrowed clothes from?"

"Yea he is, you be careful around the boys hun. They will eat you up in a second." She winks and moves back behind the cash register.

I shoot her a look. "He's not interested in me."

I carry my way up the flight of stairs to the familiar door I have seen before and knock.

I can hear feet shuffling behind the door as if someone was rushing around trying to get themselves in order.

Eventually the door opens to a woman.

"Hi." She smiles at me.

"Hi I was wondering if there was a boy that lives here? I have to return something."

She looks at me before calling out.

"Oscar?"

"Yes Renée?"

"There is a girl at the door for you." Renée opens the door all the way revealing Oscar standing beside her.

"Oh! Hey it's you." he smiles.

"Yes it's me haha, I just wanted to return the clothes." I handed them out to him freshly washed and pressed.

However, Renée looses her smile in an instant.

"Why does she have your clothes!?" she stood skeptically at the door frame separating the two of us.

"We will talk about it later." Oscar says.

"No, now!" She shakes her head. Once she realizes that Oscar and I are not saying anything she storms down the stairs and out of the building.

"Oh, I-I am sorry for chasing your girlfriend away." I rub the base if my neck.

"Don't worry about it." he doesn't look to surprised about it. "Want to come in?"

Every nerve in my body was telling me to say no but he looks so welcoming. I'm not going to do it, I say to myself I am just going to thank him and walk on home.

"Sure!" My smile spans across my face as I enter.

He steps aside allowing me to come through and shows me the living room.

"Here..." he hands me the remote to pick a channel as he walks into the kitchen to get some snacks.

He's a boy so he must like hockey.. I think, taking hold of the remote and starting a game.

Oscar re-enters the room with a bowl of popcorn.

"I didn't catch your name earlier." He smiles.

"I'm Linnea, you are Oscar right?"

He nods and picks up a piece of popcorn as he sits beside me a little closer than I had expected.
