Misty gazed herself at the mirror and tie her long black hair into pony tail. She didn't bother to put a make up or anything on her porcelain white face. She wore her black rimmed purple eyesglasses which covers her amethyst eyes that she inherited from her late mother. That's where she gets her name Amethyst too. Feeling satisfied with her looks and in her school uniform with black blazer, red bow tie and a gray skirt, she hurried down to the their living room and bumped to a brunette middle age woman who she knew eversince young.
"What's with the ungainliness behavior young lady?" Belinda scrutinized. In her age of forty five, she looks young and sexy. Her brunette hair which she worn into sleek bun and a white long sleeves blouse which she tucked in her black pencil skirts that emphasizes her curves made her look like a professor.
Misty straighten her back and gave Belinda a grin.
"I'm sorry Mom. I'm just excited because it's my first day of school," Misty reasoned out as she gave her a puppy looked. She knows that Belinda Laine can never get angry of that face. She is her adoptive mother who took care of her at the age of ten when her biological mother Violet Kosenzweig died, and she knows this woman well. She looks so tough and strict outside but inside she is a softie.
"I know you're excited but try to be careful and don't run like a lad. Remember, you're a young lady already and you should act like one," she lectured.
"Okay, I'll TRY to remember it," Misty responded with a smile which earned Belinda a sigh.
"By the way, you look good in that uniform Amethyst," Belinda complimented. Sadness was evident in her voice.
"Let's go Mom, I'm gonna be late," she grinned, pulling her hand as she dashed outside.
While Misty rode in car on the way to her school, Belinda never failed to remind and instruct her what to do. It's obvious how she worry to Misty since this is the first time that she will attend to a regular school and to top of it, it is a boarding school.
Eversince Misty was young, she had been home schooled by Belinda. It was lonely for her to be always like that, so she decided to convince Belinda to enroll in a real school. Thanks to her persistent and will power, Belinda finally approved it. But it is not that easy 'cos there are some conditions she made.
"We're here! Wow, I can't believe it!" Misty's eyes glittered the moment she saw the enormous black gate of Greystone Royal Academy with a G symbol at the top.
"Remember what I said Amethyst and my conditions," she reminded. Misty nodded and kissed her cheek.
"Don't worry Mom. I won't forget it," she assured and hurriedly went down the car with her heavy suitcase.
"I'll visit you every week end and I'll try to call you everyday," Belinda said, there's a hint of worry in her voice.
"I promise I will be okay here and I'll remember all the things that you said. So once again, don't worry and be happy, okay?" Misty replied embracing her.
Belinda loves Misty and she cannot simply erased the worries in her heart. But as a second mother, she knows that eventually she needs to let go her off the cage and let her fly like a free bird. She trust her and know that this young lady is strong and can survive even without her. She went to her car and gave a last wave to her beloved Amethyst.
Misty took a deep breath and smiled as she watched Belinda drove away. She glanced around and noticed a lot of students entering the academy's premises. Finally, washing away the feeling of nervousness, she decided to enter the school.
Amusement flooded her, when she saw a big fountain with a two statue of angels at the center. Part of her want to soak in the fountain, get wet and played with it. She smiled to her crazy thought and shook her head. Maybe next time she will try it but now, she better get hurry before she will get late in her first class.
