"Randhir.." She gasped when he pulled her closer amidst the surging waves, their bodies, clashing against each other. His fingers skimmed through the bare skin of her waist, gripping tightly. She felt her skin burning under his touch even under the cold water. Her palms were pressed against his chest, feeling the taut muscles against her skin.

"What would you do if I kissed you right now?" He hushed aligning their lips closer.
She felt goosebumps erupt all over her skin at his husky voice.

"Wha..what?" She bit her lower lip and stammered while looking down at his inviting lips.

"Just what you heard.."

"I.. I would probably kiss you back.." She didnot just say that! Sanyukta felt like burning herself down for even retorting to a question like that. Where the hell she was getting such boldness from that day?

"You would?" She could hear a clear amusment in his voice and when she got the courage to look up at him after saying so, she saw him gazing at her  astonishingly. Well yeah? They had already done it few times. Who the hippopotamus was she to deny a kiss from her first love who willingly wanted to kiss her?

"HEY LOVE BIRDS! Get back here! Lunchtime!" Randhir and Sanyukta instantly jolted apart when they heard Aryan yelling from the shore. Okay did they zone out like-for an hour or more- that it was lunch time already? Sanyukta—to avoid furthur pushing through the topic—splashed water at Randhir's face and swam away from him instantly towards the shore. She could heard Randhir groaning frustratingly at that and that made her chuckle.

"Who's up for a game of volley?" Aryan rummaged through his bag pack and brought out a beach ball. They had their lunch and were then sunbathing on their respective mats. Sanyukta was arranging the things while sitting on their original picnic spot and well Randhir was one third sulking(Aryan and Sanaya couldn't keep their hands off each other and it didn't help that they were on the single mat next to him)—one third swooning(A completely drenched Sanyukta in less clothes was indeed a treat for his eyes)—one third groaning(–after regular intervals–only to show Sanyukta that how he was totally done with their almost kisses).

After running back from him to the shore,  Sanyukta thought that she was in safe side but she had actually put her guards down a bit too early and that, she realised when Randhir grabbed her from behind and within a blink of eye, she tasted salty water in her mouth. He had literally thrown her into the water and was laughing his knees off at the shore with Aryan and Sanaya on his footsteps after that. And that initiated a water fight between the four. When they realized that their stomach couldn't take it anymore, they sat for lunch.

It was nearing dusk then and Sanyukta was done packing when Aryan held up a tantrum of how he wanted to play beach volleyball for days.

"You really love him, don't you?" Sanyukta heard Sanaya's voice from her side. The guys were pretty much indulged into the game and Sanyukta was tired so she ditched it. Sanaya probably couldn't get more bored, playing with the guys so she accompanied Sanyukta. They were sitting on the sand, facing the sea, a bit away from the boys. The sun had started to set down the horizon and the ambience of the surrounding had completely changed into a orangy peaceful one.

"Yeah.." She sighed looking at Randhir. He was having fun and his smile said that. He didn't look like that homeless wretched man who had saved her life once.

"Did you confess that to him?" She stiffened at Sanaya's words. Yeah, like he didn't have enough problems to deal with already! She knew that she loved him but it wasn't necessary that he'd reciprocate her love. Surely he took her as a close friend, but that was probably because he had no one then. It could be that someday when he got his lost things back—he would forget that there was a girl named Sanyukta who's life he had saved twice. First time by actually saving her from that accident and the second time— by letting her have a taste of the most essential and beautiful thing in the world-Love–considering the scarcity of that particular thing in her life.
