Only Time Will Tell...

Bad News...

The car ride home, neither one spoke.

“Hey, how was the ultrasound?” Ashton asked, as they walked in. Leah ran upstairs. Niall just stood there, motionless.

“What’s wrong?” Ashton asked, worriedly. Niall just walked past her, and slowly walked upstairs, blankly staring ahead.

“Seriously, guys! I need to know!” Ashton said, going after them.

She walked into their room. They were sitting on the bed, both crying.

“I’m sorry…” Ashton said, realizing what happened. She remembered that was how her parents acted when they lost Emily.

“The doctor said she was gone…” Leah said, sobbing.

“I’m so sorry…” Ashton said again, sitting beside them.

“I’ve only known about her a day and she’s gone!” Niall said.

“What’s going on?” Zayn asked.

“Can we please just have some quiet?” Niall yelled.

Ashton got up and walked out with Zayn. “What happened?” he asked again.

“Leah had a miscarriage…” Ashton said.

“Oh, I didn’t know…” Zayn said.

Just then, Ashton got a call.

“Hey, Mom!” Ashton said to Karen, Liam’s mom.

“Hey, honey. Have you heard from Liam lately? We haven’t.” Karen asked.

“Actually, he didn’t come home from the visit the boys are about to leave from.” Ashton said, beginning to wonder what’s going on.

“Oh, well then. How have you been?” Karen asked.

“You know, pregnant.” Ashton said, laughing.

“Ha, I know what that’s like…” Karen said, chuckling.

“Yea…”

“Oh, did you know Danielle had her baby?” Karen asked.

“I didn’t even know she was pregnant!” Ashton said, shocked.

“Yea, with your brother, Taylor! How could you not know?” Karen asked, shocked she didn’t know.

“Wow, I can’t believe it! I better go check on Shawn. Love you, bye!” Ashton said.

After Ashton fed Shawn, she called Liam’s cell. “Hello?” a female voice answered.

“Um…who is this?” Ashton asked, angrily.

“Danielle…who else would it be?” Danielle said.

Ashton started to put the pieces together. She feared for what was going on. “Can I talk to Liam?”

“He can’t come to the phone right now…” Dani said.

“Well, can you tell him to call me later?” Ashton asked.

“Yea gotta go. Bye!” Dani said, and then hung up the phone.

Ashton turned to Zayn again.

“You know we’re leaving again tonight, right?” Zayn asked.

“Yea, Liam never came back…he’s with Dani!” Ashton yelled.

“Don’t stress Kendall!” Zayn said.

“Since when do you care about Kendall?” Ashton asked.

“Ever since I cared about you!” Zayn said, leaning in to kiss her
