Things to Forget but Never Can

1 week later

The phone rang. Ashton had fallen asleep on the couch next to Cooper last night, watching Toy Story, and she slowly got up, as not to wake Cooper and answered the phone. Liam was on Kendall duty.

"Hello?" Ashton asked.

"Hey, sweetie!" Ryan said, cheerfully.

"Hey, dad..." Ashton said, still yawning.

"Well, is Liam there?" Ryan asked.

"Yea, but he's probably still asleep..." Ashton said.

"Well, when he wakes up, can you ask him if he wants to go out for father, son time?" Ryan asked.

"Yea, I guess..." Ashton said, rubbing her eyes.

"Thanks, hun!" Ryan said.

"No problem..." Ashton said back.

Everything was quiet. There was a long silence.

"Well, bye!" Ashton said.

"Bye..." Ryan said.

They hung up.

2 hours later

 "I don't want to, he scares me!" Liam said, answering to Ashton's question.

"But he wants you to! He said it would be good father, son time!" Ashton yelled at him.

"But why do I have to?" Liam yelled back.

"Liam!" Ashton shrieked.

"Why are you always so mad?" Liam screamed.

Ashton turned red. She grabbed her bag and stuffed her clothes in it.

"What are you doing?" Liam asked.

Ashton packed the kids’ stuff quickly, and got Shawn and Kendall in their car seats.

"Ashton, where are you going?" Liam yelled.

Ashton grabbed everything and went to the car. Cooper was right behind her. She got in the driver’s seat and drove off.

Liam chased after. "Wait, Ashton!"

At Niall and Leah's

"Wyatt, you can't be playing with that!" Leah yelled.

The doorbell rang.

"Niall, can you get that?" Leah asked.

Niall opened the door. "Ashton?"

Ashton wiped her tears away, "Liam and I got into a fight... can the kids and I stay here for a while?"

"Of course! Anything for my sister!" Niall said, helping her carry in Kendall's car seat.

"What are they doing here?" Leah asked.

"Ashton needs to stay here for a while..." Niall said.

"Ok?" Leah said.

"Mummy, Wyatt stole my toy!" Darcy screamed.

Leah sighed, "Go ask him nicely to give it back."

"Fine!" Darcy yelled.

"Let me show you to your room..." Niall said.

They walked upstairs.

"Where is my room?" Cooper asked.

"You are staying here..." Niall said, pointing to the first bedroom.

Cooper ran into the room.

"Moving on...." Niall said.

1 week later

There was a knock at the door.

"I'll get it!" Ashton yelled. She opened the door to Liam.

"Ashton! I have been looking everywhere for you!" Liam said.

"Well, you didn't look hard enough!" Ashton said sarcastically.

"I went with Ryan for some father, son time....." Liam said.

"And?" Ashton asked, raising her eyebrows.

"Everything was going good, until, Dani texted me..."

Ashton slammed the door in his face.

"It was about YFL!" Liam yelled. Ashton opened the door.

"Sorry..." Ashton said, blushing.

"I want you back home.... I miss you…" Liam said.

Shawn stumbled down the stairs.

"Dadda," Shawn said, walking to Liam.

"Hey, Shawn!" Liam said, picking him up.

A car pulled into the driveway. “Ryan?” Leah asked.

Liam pushed everyone out of the way and ran upstairs.

“Was that Liam?” Ryan asked, stepping out of the car.

Ashton got up after Liam pushed her down. “Yep…”

“Do you know he’s cheating on you?” Ryan asked her.

Ashton almost dropped Kendall. “What?”

“Yea, he was texting her last night. Payzer’s back on!” Ryan said.

Ashton realized what he meant. “No, dad. It wasn’t like that! It was for YFL!” she said.

“Oh…” Ryan said, turning red.

“Yea, dad!” Ashton yelled.

Cooper ran down the stairs in his underwear. “Halloween’s next month!” he yelled.

“Cooper, why aren’t you in the bath?” Ashton yelled.

“I remembered what I want to be!” Cooper yelled.

“What?” Ashton asked impatiently.

“Uncle Louis!” Cooper said.

Ashton looked confused. “Um, honey, I don’t think Uncle Louis appreciates that!” she said.

“I’m fine with it!” Louis said, standing in the doorway.

Everyone turned around.

“Oh, when he said Uncle Louis, he meant Uncle Louis!” Leah said, pointing at him.

“Are you sure you’re not blonde?” Ashton said seriously, looking at Leah’s brunette hair.

“Shouldn’t you go get Liam?” Leah asked, trying to change the subject.

Ashton went upstairs, taking Cooper with her. “Get back in your bath!” she said, almost opening the bathroom door.

“Uh, mommy, if you open the door, you might get…wet…” Cooper said seriously.

Ashton opened the door to see the bathroom just like it was.

“Ha-ha, mommy got you!” Cooper laughed.

“COOPER DAWSON MALIK!!!!!” Ashton screamed, “Never scare your mom like that again!”

Cooper jumped from Ashton’s arms, ran in the bathroom, and closed and locked the door.

Ashton took a deep breath and searched every room….until she got to hers. She slowly opened the door to see Liam by her bedside with an open box reading: Things to Forget but Never Can.
