The next day
Ashton got up early and walked downstairs in her favorite hoodie. Zayn was already up.
“Isn’t that my hoodie?” Zayn asked.
“Shh, don’t tell Liam!” Ashton whispered.
The doorbell rang. It was Melanie.
“Hey, mom!” Ashton said, yawning.
“I have some news…” Melanie said with tears in her eyes.
“What is it?” Ashton worriedly asked.
“You might want to get Leah.” Melanie said.
“Um, Niall and her moved down to Miami…” Ashton said.
“Well, Grandma Barbara died!” Melanie said.
Ashton started crying. “What’s wrong?” Harry asked, walking downstairs.
“Barbara died!” Ashton said, still crying.
“Who’s Barbara?” Harry asked.
“She’s my grandma, but her and Grandpa George got a divorce and she married Leah’s grandfather. Then she opened a bakery down in Cheshire…” Ashton explained.
“A Bakery? Wait, Barbara!” Harry cried, dropping to his knees.
Melanie looked confused.
Ashton remembered her and Leah visiting their grandma at the opening of her new bakery, and seeing Harry.
"Harry worked for her..." Ashton said.
"She used to pinch my bum on a Saturday!" Harry cried.
Leah knocked on the door. "I brought breakfast! You in the mood for Starbucks?" Leah asked, walking in herself. Everyone was crying. "What's wrong?" she asked.
"Barbara died!" Harry said, still bawling.
Leah dropped the bags. "Grandma!"
