The next morning Sherlock woke up to find himself under the covers with his mouth dryer than the Sahara Desert.Groaning he rolled over his eyes falling to the floor where his shoes sat. He looked at the blanket that covered him and vaguely remembered the events from the night before. Sitting up he turned on his bedside lamp surprised to see a glass of water with a note next to it.
Sherlock,
I didn't know what you would need this morning but there's a glass of water and some aspirin. I made sure you got home okay like friends are supposed to do, take it easy. See you in the morning
-John
Sherlock smiled at the note and tucked it into his coat pocket. Yawning he reached for the glass and the aspirin, then left his room for the loo to get ready for the day. He was in the middle of brushing his teeth when both Mycroft and Greg Lestrade barged in locking the door behind them.
"What are you doing?" Sherlock hissed
"It would appear that our father is home from his business trip early and is downstairs enjoying a nice scone."
"And?"
"And I can't get Greg out of the house without him noticing."
"Father is a stupid man Mycroft, he wouldn't even think to ask. However, on the off chance that he does, just tell him you were going over notes for a class that Greg missed."
Mycroft moved away from the window and stood, staring at his brother he nodded
"I hadn't thought of that."
Sherlock said nothing he just tended to his curls.
"I'll think of it as payback," Mycroft said suddenly
"For?"
"Last night."
"What of it, Mycroft."
"Father came home late last night and was looking to greet you, but your door was locked. I had to tell him you were suffering from a migraine before you got caught."
"What time?"
"What?"
"What time last night."
"I don't know just past eleven."
Sherlock nodded. "Payback then."
Mycroft and Greg left without another word.
Sherlock mushed his curls so they were messy without being bed head and left the bathroom for his room. After getting dressed he grabbed his bag and pounded down the stairs to leave.
"Sherlock?" His mother called.
Sherlock growled internally and turned. Why must people bother him when he was so obviously in a rush?
"Leaving without breakfast?" She asked him
"Going to be late for school." He said hoping she would take the hint.
"Hold on." She said disappearing into the kitchen.
Sherlock groaned. How angry would she be if he just left now?
She came back with an apple and a muffin. "Eat along the way." She told him sending him off with a kiss to the cheek.
Sherlock rushed up to school ready to talk to John. He opened the door to the wing and stopped at the sight of John talking to someone.
He was wearing an oatmeal coloured sweater and blue jeans. His hair was spiked up and he was smiling while he spoke. Sherlock's stomach dropped. She was wearing a cheer uniform and was looking at John as though he was the king of the world. She had her brown hair pulled into a ponytail and was playing with it as she stood.
