Chapter Twelve- End of Year One

Most of the week consisted of older students preparing for April Fools Day while the first years remained clueless. It was as if people were preparing for Muggle's Doomsday. Kat understood though, but didn't worry about it. She had helped Fred and George plan some pranks and get past some people's protection spells. She, in return, got immunity and protection during April Fools. Fred and George's party was Saturday night and it was supposed to be epic. It would be held in the Gryffindor's Common Room and the Fat Lady wasn't one to turn down students on that night in fear of what the twins might do.

When Kat got to said party she saw Harry, Ron, and Hermione just sitting around and watching the festivities. Percy wasn't to be found anywhere. Kat walked over to the Golden Trio and piled each of them up.

"Come on you guys, don't be such sticks in the mud! Be brace Gryffindors and dance! Have fun!" Kat laughed and pushed each of them towards the middle of the room.

"This really isn't my crowd Kat, sorry. I'm just going to go up to my room." Hermione quickly climbed the stairs to her room and disappeared for the night.

"I don't dance, sorry Kat." Ron sat back down until Kat pushed him up again and into the arms of another first year who just finished dancing with a seconds year.

"May I have this dance, Kat?" Harry bowed and stuck out his hand, laughing. Kat laughed at how formal he was being at an informal dance.

"Why of course my good sir!" Kat curtsied in her robes and allowed Harry to take her hand. They ran out into the crowd of dancing teens and preteens and danced until the night ended. Harry snuck Kat back to the Slytherin Commons under his Invisibility Cloak and said their goodnights.

"Kat? Is that you? Bloody hell, you've only been gone for the entire night!" Draco sleepily said, rubbing his eyes.

"Sorry for waking you Draco, I told you those parties were insane!" Kat laughed and helped Draco off the couch. "You should go to bed now, forget that this even happened, goodnight Draco."

"Goodnight Kat." Draco yawned and went to his dormitory.

Kat crept into her dorm as well and got into her bed without waking any of the other girls.

"Bloody hell, how late did she stay out last night? It's past noon and she's still not up! Pansy, go and get her!" Draco nearly yelled.

"Draco dear, she must be exhausted. The Weasley Twins' parties are known to be atrociously magnificent," Pansy yawned, "I almost wish I had gone just to have an excuse to sleep in as well instead of you screaming at me to wake up."

"And here I was thinking that you adored me Pansy." Draco rolled his eyes. "Fine, I'll let her sleep for a while longer but I just don't think it healthy to throw her sleeping schedule off so much."

"You have a point but you're not her dad." Pansy covered her mouth. "Oops."

"Yeah, try not to say that in front of her." Draco grabs a book from the bookshelf and lays on the couch in front of the fireplace.
After another hour or so of silence, Kat emerges from the dormitory yawning.
