Chapter Five- Theatrical Troll Event

Halfway through breakfast, Professor Snape started handing out the schedules for each Slytherin student. Draco and Kat found that they had more classes together than not. Professor Snape also told everyone in Slytherin to stay in the Great Hall after they finished breakfast for a few minutes.
Dumbledore made a big announcement once breakfast was over, but it didn't affect many students so everyone went to their first classes of the school year. Draco and Kat stood to go to Potions together but stopped when Kat decided to try to be friendly to Draco's other friends.
"Do you guys have potions right now?" When met with one no and two yeses, she welcomed Crabbe and Goyle to walk with them and asked Pansy what class she had. Pansy answered Transfiguration and added a face to suggest she hated it already. Kat wished her luck and left with the three boys. It was quite an awkward walk for Kat, being with Draco and his two nearly mute 'bodyguards'.

"So Kat, what class do you have after potions?" Draco asked.

"Let's see, I have Charms. You? Crabbe, Goyle?" She asked.

"I have Charms as well, then Transfiguration. They have block two free then Transfiguration with us. Pansy said she'd see us in Charms before we turned that last corner." Draco told her. "Ugh, looks like Potter and Weasley have Potions with us." Kat decided against adding that Hermione did too, she didn't want to bring her into Draco's bullying spotlight.

"Draco, they're not that bad, please." Kat gave him a pleading look.

"Alright, just not when you're around." He said, and he meant it too. "How about the Weasley? He's obviously not happy you're a Slytherin. Can I tease him for not accepting a family member for who she is?" He asked.

Kat thought before she answered, thinking about how Draco would word said tease. "Sorry Draco, not while I'm around." She hoped he would hear the slight 'yes' in her answer.

"Only when you're not around." He winked.
Draco and Kat sat at the table next to Harry and Hermione's table. Ron sat at the table on the other side of Harry and Hermione, with another Gryffindor. Crabbe and Goyle sat behind Draco and Kat. Three minutes into class and they all heard a deep drawl coming from the back of the room. Professor Snape started to walk to the front of class and got in a weird little, almost, fight with Harry. The rest of class went smoothly, with an exception of a few bumps here and there for Harry.

Kat finished packing her things for Potions and waited for Draco to finish so they could go to Charms. It seemed Harry, Hermione, and Ron were going there too. Pansy caught up with Draco and Kat a few turns before they got to Charms. Draco and Pansy sat together this time and Kat decided to sit next to Harry as Ron and Hermione sat next to each other. The boy on the other side of Harry introduced himself as Seamus and halfway through class, made his feather explode. His feather. Kat laughed at it with Seamus and Harry, and they laughed when Hermione pointed out how Ron was saying it wrong. Kat then used Hermione's pronunciation correction herself and found that it worked. Hermione earned 10 points to Gryffindor and Kat earned 5 points to Slytherin. They winked at each other from across the room when Draco got another 5 points for Slytherin for being the third person to be able to lift the feather. After Transfiguration, Kat heard Ron bullying Hermione later in the courtyard about how she corrected him in Charms, and shoved past Ron like Hermione did to run after her. Kat sent a look over her shoulder at Ron and shook her head to make him feel even worse. Kat found Hermione in one of the girls' bathrooms and stayed with her to make sure she felt better. They were about to leave when a giant cave troll wandered in, and after it, two boys; Harry and Ron. Kat had sent a few spells its way then ran out so a teacher wouldn't find her because she knew how backwards the teachers here were sometimes. Hermione knew why she left so she yelled at Ron later in the Commons when Ron talked badly about Kat leaving. She also yelled at Harry for taking Ron's side and how it was Ron's fault in the first place that they were all there.

Kat walked into the Slytherin Commons to find Pansy and Draco waiting for her. "Oh, hey."

"Where were you?" Draco asked, not looking up at her from the fireplace.

"I was with Hermione, Ron said a few things that really hurt her feelings."

"All through dinner, and then after a cave troll announcement in the dungeons?" Draco's voice raised a bit.

"Yeah, the troll walked into the bathroom, Harry and Ron ran in after it to defeat it. They had things under control when I left. Didn't want to be found and get points taken off of Slytherin."

Draco started to open his mouth when Pansy finally spoke up. "It's too crazy of a story to make up, Draco. We did see her run after Granger. By the way, you left after the troll was basically defeated?" Pansy gaped at me.

"Well yeah, had to make sure none of them died from a random troll attack at school. I'd never hear the end of it from-"

"What were you thinking?" Draco's voice sounded, icy calm but in a dangerous way.
Pansy took this as her cue to leave.

"See you in the dormitory, good night." Pansy said to each Kat, wishing Kat luck.

Kat sat next to Draco who finally turned his head to look at her. "You could've been killed, Kat."

"But I wasn't!" Kat said cheerfully, ready to go to bed. The stinging on her right leg was starting to really bother her so she wanted to check one of her books to find a healing spell. She saw the cut earlier and it wasn't too bad for what it could've been.

"But you could've been. Are you hurt in any way?" He asked.

"No, I'm completely fine! I'm just a little tired is all. I'll see you in the morning, goodnight Draco." Kat put her hand on his shoulder and swung her robes to cover her right leg when she walked up to her dorm.

As soon as Kat was changed and on her bed, she flipped through her books to find a spell to help her leg. She flipped through Charms books first using different easy spells that she came across. Any kind of spell that could've reacted badly was quickly dismissed, and by the end of her first book she had temporarily stopped the pain and any bleeding. Exhausted, Kat went to bed feeling proud of herself that night.
