The death of my father was very painful for me. He was my hero, my life. I remember everything we got the chance to do together. How come this photo was what showed? My mom never had a photo like this out. Every photo was in a tote in the corner. I picked up the photo and turned around. I looked over at the tote and noticed that the lid was halfway off. Hmmmm. I slid the picture back into the tote and closed in, stacking some books on top. "Okay harvey let's go" I said. We walked back down to the living room and sat down. "I saw you with that picture of your dad. Are you okay?" He asked. "Y-yeah I'm alright" I lied. "No you're not. We've been best friends forever, remember? I can tell when you're upset" he said. I sighed. "It's just that, that photo of my dad shouldn't have been out. My mom never goes up to the attic and neither does Caroline. We never touch those photos" I replied. I felt tears forming in my eyes. "I'm sorry I shouldn't have brought it up" he said. I shook my head "no, it's okay" I replied before wiping my face.
------------
Harvey took me to dinner and we went to a movie. When we arrived home I took off my dress and heels and put on a pair of shorts and a T-shirt. I slipped on some avia socks and walked downstairs. "So Max and I were thinking about doing something tomorrow. Would you like to join" Harvey asked as I sat down next to him. "Yeah definitely. How is max" I asked. "He's alright I guess. He's been down lately and I'm not sure what's wrong" he replied. "Hmmm well I think we could change the fact that he's sad." I smiled, he flashed his beautiful smile and layed back against the couch. I suddenly felt cold, never have I felt a draft quite like this, the air seemed to balance between cold and hot. "Harvey do you feel that" I asked. "Yeah I feel it babe" he replied. I sighed and brushed it off.
-----------
I was drifting off to sleep, I slowly closed my eyes and let sleep take over. I drifted and drifted when BANG, there was a huge bang coming from downstairs, the basement. I shot up from the couch and so did Harvey. I started to breathe heavy and Harvey must have noticed. He ran over to me and hugged me. "It's okay, it's okay I promise" he said. I squeezed him tightly. "I'll check for you" he said again. "Thank you" I replied. I watched as he walked to the basement door and opened it. He stepped in and I sat back down on the couch. I waited and waited and Harvey didn't come out. I heard a very loud noise and basically freaked out. I stood up and ran to the basement door. "Harvey!" I yelled down the stairs. No answer. "Harvey!" I yelled again. He still didn't answer me. I was scared. I leaned in a bit further and saw, between the stairs and the handle, Harvey's leg. I stepped down the first few stairs and realized Harvey was on the floor. I ran down and grabbed his shoulder. "Harvey" I half yelled while shaking him. He didn't wake up. I tried again but he didn't wake up. I looked around and there was a pile of knocked over boxes and totes. He had a bruise forming on his forehead and cuts on his arm and neck. I grabbed his arm and tried to lift him, I couldn't. I never did have much upper arm strength. I thought for a moment. I decided to try again, this time I was able to lift him enough to wrap his arm around my neck and mine around his waist. I lugged him up the stairs and layed him on the couch. I ran to the kitchen and opened a pack of sponges. I put cold water on one and ran back to the living room. I pressed the freezing sponge to his forehead and in seconds he was awake. "Harvey" I said. "Yes babe. Where am I? What happened?" He asked. "I-I'm not sure, I found you in the basement passed out" I said. He sighed and layed back. "The last thing I remember was reaching for the window in the basement to latch it and then a bunch of boxes fell on me and then I don't remember the rest" he said. So the boxes knocked him out, makes sense.
--------------
I pressed a damp rag to Harvey's now bleeding cut on his neck. He winced a little but then settled down again. "I'm sorry" I gasped. "It's okay babe it really is" he said laying his hand on mine. I finished cleaning all of his cuts and I washed the rag out. "Harvey I just wanted to thank you for doing what you do for me. You've always been there for me no matter what and I know I can count on you and that's just amazing and I can't thank you enough" I said as I sat down on the sofa. "Of course babe. I'll always be there for you. And I couldn't think of anyone better to spend my days with" he replied. I smiled and hugged him.
