What was I doing?! I have to tell Harvey! I slipped on some shoes and ran outside, without thinking I ran down the street and into town. By the time I reached the grocery store I was out of breath, man I'm getting old. I walked in casually, trying not to freak out. I walked around and finally spotted Harvey. "Harvey guess what" I asked, walking up to him. "Hey babe, did you run" he asked. I waved the question away with my hand. "Max is okay! He's the only survivor! What are the chances?" I squealed. He hugged me quickly. "He's going to London hospital" I informed him. "Well let's go" he beamed, dropping everything. We jumped in the car and drove to London. When we arrived at the hospital we quickly ran in. "Max mills" I said to the lady at the desk. "Room 113" she replied. I thanked her and we walked down the hall. 111,112, ah! 113. I slowed my pace and walked around the corner, and into the room. Max was laying on the bed, he was bruised and had a bit of blood on his face. His arm was wrapped in white cloth and he had needles coming out of his arms. "Max" I said. He turned his head towards me. "Dove! Harvey! I didn't think you guys would know!" He beamed. I smiled and gave him a hug, causing him to flinch. I immediately back up. "I'm so sorry max" I said. "No. No. It's fine" he smiled.

"So, tell me about it" I said as Harvey walked out to get some snacks. "Well.. the masks came down from the roof after some major turbulence, people panicked. I immediately tightened my belt, making myself harder to move. I looked out the window, we were descending towards the ground.. fast. Women and men cried. Couples have their last kisses, and I- all I could think about was you.. my best friend. I knew you'd be torn apart by it all. Anyways, I knew the crash was coming, there was no doubt. I closed my window and layed back. I wanted to cry honestly. I looked at the old lady next to me, she said 'bless you honey.' And then she grabbed my hand. I squeezed it tight, knowing we'd both leave behind the world we had. It was a very intense moment. I opened my window once more and saw the ground about 100 feet away. I closed the window again. All I thought about was my family and you. I felt the nose of the plane hit the ground, I didn't want to open my eyes, it was very loud. I felt things scraping across me, then the worst part of it all... I felt the old woman's grip, loosen. It was all very sad. I blacked out, when I woke up people were checking my pulse" he explained. It all hit me, it's intense really. His eyes were watering and I could tell he was going to cry. "I broke down" I finally said as I looked at the floor. "What" he asked, I could see him sit up more. "When I heard. We were waiting for you and hours passed. I asked the lady what happened and she wouldn't tell me so I asked again and git my answer. I broke down in tears and had to go behind the airport. Max, I need to tell you something" I said. I looked up and he nodded. "I'm pregnant" I admitted. "Wow... that's- that's really great. I'm going to be an uncle" he smiled. Although, he didn't seem to enthused. "What's wrong" I asked. "Nothing" he replied. "Max, don't lie to me" I said. "Listen, there's nothing I enjoy more, than to see the girl I love... marrying my brother" he said in an annoyed and sarcastic tone. "Max... you love me, I know, but not as anything more than a really good friend, right" I asked. "Yeah" he replied. "I just don't understand Max. If you only love me as a friend why is it so hard to watch me move on with Harvey? Shouldn't you be happy?" I asked. "I'm sorry. Forget I said anything" he said. I furrowed my eyebrows. Just then, Harvey walked in. He was out of breath. "Sorry I took so long. I couldn't find a good vending machine." He said. "I want to go home" I said as I stood up. I began to walk to the door. "Wait, dove!" I heard Max shout. I ignored him and walked out.

I walked to my car after exiting the hospital. "Hey hey hey hey dove wait a sec!" Harvey yelled, trying to grab my arm. I turned around "what" I asked. He stepped back as if he was surprised by my attitude. "What was that all about" he asked. "He says he loves me as a friend but he's upset that I'm pregnant and marrying you. I don't want to argue. I want to go back to college for a couple more years and earn my masters degree in teaching" I said. "Wow, that escalated quickly" he replied. "Don't you want to think about this" he asked. I shook my head "no" I said angrily. I jumped into the passenger seat of the car and waited for Harvey to get in. He didn't get in so I opened the door. "I think I'm going to stay here for a couple of hours" he said. "I'm going home" I said getting into the drivers seat and driving off.
