Khalil POV
Another day of fighting, I can tell already. Although I had only just woken up, I have a gut feeling that the day would end in me fighting someone today - whether it be Issa or someone in his crew, or my uncle, or even a stranger on the streets - I could just tell that I was going to fight today.
"Mom, I'm taking the kids to school then I'm off. Love you!" I announced to the public before kissing her cheek, grabbing an apple and two bananas, and leaving the apartment with my brother and sister.
"Love. You." My mom shouted out.
After dropping my siblings off at the daycare and school, I made my way to the High School, where I was pretty damn stoked to see Keke. I hadn't talked to her in a while - if you consider last evening to be a while, then yeah, a while. Also, I hadn't talked,h to Avery lately. Nothing bad, it's just that I've been too worked up fighting my damn uncle that I'd be too pissed off to reply to Avery's texts or answer his calls.
When the school came into view, a smile appeared on my face. I saw her. I saw her pink and black shirt and her black skinny jeans and her pink Converse sneakers and her long, black hair and her white smile. It's weird that I, Khalil Underwood, was feeling some type of way for her, Keyandra "Keke" Wilson.
"Hey, Keke!" I called out once I'm close enough to be eye - to - eye view.
Her smile disappeared as she looked around for the mysterious voice. Once she locked eyes with me, her smile came back wider than ever. She excused herself from Julia and Deja. She ran to me and jumped up. I swiftly caught her and spun her around. She giggled.
"Hey, shorty! I haven't seen you in a while." she said, poking my stomach. "Ouch. Hard tummy."
I chuckled and bit my bottom lip. "Yeah, I been busy. What's up, though?"
I could see a faint blush on her cheeks as she looked down.
"Nothing. I been hanging with my new friends. Come on! I want you to meet them." She insisted, tugging on my hand like a little kid.
"Nah. I don't think they'll like me much." I said in a joking manner. I thought back to the time when Logan and Julia crazy asses came barging in Avery's place beating my ass because they thought I was playing with Keke's emotions.
The doorbell rang throughout the house and Avery went to answer. I sat quietly while Chris and Justice talked about girls they'd like to bang.
"I think Julia Sanchez is pretty damn hot," Chris said..
Justice shook his head. "Nah. Her brother's a fucking creeper. He'll kick your ass. And she's taken."
Chris smiled cockily and stands. "I can get any girl I want with this." He thrusted his hips around and lifted his shirt to reveal his six pack.
Just as I was about to join the conversation, Logan and Julia busted into the room fuming. Logan yanked me out the seat and slapped me repeatedly. Being that I was against abusing females, I took her hits and balled up to protect my face.
"You fucking jackass! How could you do that to Keke?" she yelled.
"Do what?" I asked, honestly confused.
"You're using her! It's obvious! And she's falling for your fucking tricks!" she yelled.
Julia held Logan back from hitting me more and told her to calm down.
"I won't calm down! He's using Keke and I ain't trynna be the reason why she gets hurt." she said, "Look you idiot, if she gets hurt, I'm coming at your head! I mean it."
