Ellie Persephone and Poppy Roberts had been best friends since they were born. Unfortunately, both the girls mothers passed away shortly after their birth and their fathers were nowhere to be found. Due to this, the only place they could go, besides an orphanage, was to Ellie's 21 year old half brother, Sam. He raised them as best he could, providing a roof over their head and food on the table and a rather comfortable bed to sleep in at night so the girls couldn't really complain. 

Despite their closeness in life, the two girls physically could not be any more different. Poppy was short even for a ten year old. Her hair was frizzy and a deep shade of chocolate brown with light green eyes that would change color with the light. Ellie however was tall for her age with dirty blonde, curly hair that stopped just below her chin and framed her face perfectly. Furthermore , Ellie had Heterochromia iridium, meaning that each eye was a different colour. Her left eye was a cool and vibrant shade of blue while her right hey was a deeper shade of brown than Poppy's hair.

Not long after the girls turned ten they befriended a young boy by the same of Harry Potter, an average size nine year old with scruffy black hair, broken, round glasses and clothes that were much too big for him. They had met him at the park one day when they stood up for him against a rather bulbous little lump of a boy - who they later learned was his cousin Dudley - was pushing him and picking on him. Since that day the trio had grown close and the girls became Harry's only solace from the neglect and abuse he suffered at the hands of the Dursleys. Little did they know, they were about to get a lot closer.
