"Ah, you're awake." A voice says happily. Ellie and Poppy's vision is blurred, and their heads throb unbearably. "Sit up, that's it." The voice says as they slowly prop themselves up. When their visions clear up, they see a relieved looking Madam Pomfrey smiling down at them. "How do you feel, girls?"
"My head's killing... but other than that I'm fine." Poppy says.
"Splendid. You're both okay. Do you remember what happened?" Madam Pomfrey asks. The girls think back to confronting Voldemort. They then remember him trying to get them to join him, then... darkness.
"Yeah, but what happened after?" Ellie says.
"Sleeping spell, I presume. Now that I know you girls are alright, you're free to go. Just drink a bit of water before you leave." Pomfrey says, clasping her hands together proudly.
"Thank you." The girls say, before taking a sip of water and setting off to find Harry."Harry!" They both yell together, having seen him in the hallway. Harry instantly turns around, a relieved grin on his face. "Ellie! Poppy!" He runs towards them, enveloping them both in a tight embrace.
"Are you alright?!" Ellie asks, concerned.
"I'm brilliant!" Harry says happily. "How about you? I had an absolute panic attack when Voldemort put you both to sleep!"
"Did you handle it okay?" Poppy asks.
"You could say that," Harry says sheepishly. "Let's go and find the others. They're worried about you."As the three enter the Great Hall, the whole school erupts into applause and cheers, welcoming them back.
"Guys!" They turn around to see Hermione darting towards them, clearly ecstatic. She throws her arms around them. "I was so worried! Are you alright? Did he-"
"We're fine, Mione." Ellie reassures. Hermione nods before speaking with a smirk.
"There's a couple of people who have been dying to see you girls." Ellie and Poppy immediately give each other a knowing glance.
"El! Pops!" Two voices exclaim as if on cue.
"TWINS!" They yell, running into the boys' outstretched arms. They leap into their grasps, the twins holding them tightly, suspended in the air.
"We missed you, ladies." They both say, relieved.
"We missed you too, darlings." Poppy says with a laugh. The four stay like that for a good 10 minutes, and only break apart when Dumbledore clears his throat to get the crowd's attention.
"Another year gone," he says proudly, "and now, as I understand it, the House Cup needs awarding. The points stand thus: in fourth place, Gryffindor with 312 points," this causes an echo of groans and sighs from the Gryffindor table. "In third place, Hufflepuff with 352 points. In second place, Ravenclaw with 426 points. And finally, in first place is Slytherin, with 572 points." Dumbledore finishes, the Slytherin table roaring with applause.
"Yes yes, well done Slytherin, well done," Dumbledore speaks again. "However. Recent events must be taken into account, and I have a few last minute points to award. To Miss Hermione Granger, for the use of cool intellect when others are in peril, 50 points." Ellie and Poppy grin at a now blushing Hermione. "Second, to Mr Ronald Weasley, for the best played game of Chess that Hogwarts has seen for many years... 50 points." Everyone cheers and laughs at Ron's utterly shocked and flustered face. "Third, to Mr Harry Potter; for pure nerve and outstanding courage... I award Gryffindor House 60 points." Gryffindor bursts into yet more applause. "Fourth, to Miss Poppy Roberts and Miss Eleanor Persephone; for quick wit, incredible intellect and undoubtedly the best Chasers Hogwarts has seen in years... 50 points. Each." The twins cheer madly at this, chanting the girls' names.
"We're tied with Slytherin!" Hermione says, shocked.
"And finally. It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to your enemies, but a great deal more to stand up to your friends. I award 10 points to Neville Longbottom." The Gryffindor table goes wild with immense cheering and applause. "Assuming that my calculations are correct, I believe that a change of direction is in order." As he says this, the green banners hung around the room change to Gryffindor red and yellow. "Gryffindor wins the House Cup!"Poppy, Ellie, Fred and George are stood at the outdoor train station, exchanging goodbyes. The girls are sat on the floor, the twins tightly wrapped around them. They were originally stood up, but they were stood embracing for so long, they ended up getting tired and sitting down. Their voices are all muffled, everyone's faces buried into another's shoulder. But faint murmurs of 'I don't want to leave you' and 'We'll miss you too much' can be barely made out.
"Come on, you lot. Train's leaving, you'll be late." Hagrid says firmly, but a sympathetic smile remains on his face.
"Alright..." the girls say reluctantly, wiping tears from their red eyes. They hop onto the scarlet train, where Hermione and Harry greet them.
"Feels strange going home, doesn't it?" Hermione says, emotionally.
"Yeah, it does. And we're gonna have a lot of explaining to do when we get back." Poppy laughs nervously. Harry merely shakes his head with a smile.
"I'm not going home. Not really."----------END OF BOOK ONE------------
