"El!" Poppy calls out to her friend as she enters the Great Hall. Ellie smiles at Poppy and takes a seat next to her, in between the twins.
"Morning, El." Fred says, smiling down at her.
"Good morning, Freddie, Georgie, Pops!" Ellie chirps cheerfully.
"You seem rather chipper today." Poppy says.
"Well perhaps it's because I have the best best friends in the world!" Ellie says, putting her arms around the three.
"Aw, thanks, darling." Poppy says, laughing.
"Are you alright from last night, El?" Fred asks, concerned.
"Pfft, yes. You guys made me feel better, and Katie and Alicia can piss off. I don't care about what they think anymore." Ellie replies, seemingly satisfying Poppy and the twins.
"Yes then, Ellie!" Poppy laughs, hi-fiving Ellie.
"Now, ladies. We have some wonderfully organised plans for pranks to go over..." Fred begins.
"Courtesy of these lovely ladies." Poppy chimes in.
"We shall be taking our leave now." George says, and they walk out of the hall. After a few minutes, Harry, Ron and Hermione join them, all looking a little too serious for the girls' liking.
"Oh god, what have you gotten yourselves into?" Poppy sighs.
"We need to catch Snape in the act." Harry says, causing the girls to roll their eyes.
"Harry, I know how you feel about Snape. But really?" Poppy says as if she had repeated it a thousand times.
"Yeah, it's ridiculous." Ellie says.
"Told you you wouldn't be able to convince them." Hermione says.
"I'm not asking you to agree with us. I'm asking you to come with us." Harry says, gravely. The girls look at each other, conflicted.
"Alright, what do we do?" Ellie says, reluctantly.
"We go down the trapdoor that Fluffy is stood on tonight."
"Fluffy?" Poppy asks, with an amused smirk.
"That's what the three-headed dog is called." Ron says. This causes the girls to burst into laughter.
"Told you it was a ridiculous name." Ron says, laughing with them.

"Harry, are you sure about this?" Ellie asks doubtfully as they make their way out of the common room late at night.
"Trevor." Harry warns.
"Trevor! Shh, go! Shoo! You shouldn't be here!" Ron whisper-shouts, trying to get the toad to move.
"And neither should you. You're sneaking out again, aren't you?" Neville  Longbottom turns around, startling the children.
"Neville..." Hermione begins, trying to reason with the boy.
"No! I won't let you! You'll get Gryffindor into trouble again! I-I-I'll fight you!" He stutters, a panicked look on his face. Poppy rolls her eyes at the boy, turning to Ellie.
"Just do it." Ellie says, her hair turning a pitch black, Poppy's doing the same.
"Neville, I'm really sorry about this. Ok no I'm not. Petrificus Totalus!" Poppy says clearly, sending a spark from the tip of her wand that causes Neville to freeze and fall over like a statue.
"Bloody hell, girls. You're scary." Ron says, nervously.
The five make their way silently down the halls, each of them quivering with worry. They come to the right door, and cautiously, they open it.
"Ouch! Ron, that was my foot!" Hermione scolds quietly.
"Sorry..." Ron replies sheepishly. Getting annoyed with the darkness, Ellie pulls out her wand.
"Lumos." She says, and a white glow emits from her wand. "That's better."
They all slowly enter the room, being careful not to make a sound.
"Wait a minute... he's snoring." Poppy says, confused.
"Snape's already been here, he's put a spell on that harp." Harry says quickly, causing Ellie and Poppy to roll their eyes. They were getting rather tired with Harry jumping to conclusions.
"Ugh, he's got horrible breath!" Ron exclaims, gagging as they approach the beast.
"We're going to have to move its paw." Poppy says.
"What?! Ron gasps, thinking the notion ridiculous.
"Come on." Harry says, impatiently, so they all grasp onto the creature's paw and begin to pull it off of the door. When the way is clear, Harry speaks.
"Ok. I'll go down first. Don't follow until I give the sign. If something happens, get yourselves out." He commands adamantly, but Ellie and Poppy are having none of it.
"Harry, I know you're just trying to be the hero here and everything, but we're not letting you go alone." Ellie says stubbornly.
"Yes. Besides, you'll probably die on your own without us." Poppy agrees, smugly.
"She's not wrong Harry. We wouldn't survive a bloody day without these girls." Ron says, awkwardly agreeing.
"Fine," Harry sighs. "We'll go down first. Come on."
As soon as he says this, Ellie comes to a realisation.
"Does it seem a little bit... quiet to you?" She asks, warily.
"The harp! It's stopped playing!" Poppy exclaims.
"Ugh! Yuck!" Ron grimaces as a sloppy slime oozes into his shoulder.
"JUMP!" Poppy bellows, leaping down the trapdoor, followed by the others.
"Oh! Good thing this plant thing's here!" Ron says happily when they all land, the fall broken by the black plant. Then, suddenly, the dark vines snake around their arms and legs, making them struggle for air.
"Poppy! Is this..." Ellie trails off, panicked.
"It's Devil's Snare!" Poppy yells. "You know what to do!" Ellie and Hermione nod, the boys looking utterly clueless.
"You two are honestly useless." Poppy rolls her eyes.
"Boys, you have to relax. If you don't, it'll only kill you faster!" Ellie demands.
"Oh, thanks Ellie! Now I'm really relaxed!" Ron stammers, his face showing pure terror.
"Shut up! Just relax!" Poppy says. As the last word escapes from her tongue, all of the three girls sink down into the vines, seeming to disappear.
"Ellie! Poppy! Hermione!" Ron cries, only getting more and more petrified.
"Ron, for the love of Merlin, relax!" Ellie commands, desperately from beneath the plants. As she says this, they see Harry drop down in front of them, and Poppy helps him up.
"He's not relaxing, is he?" Hermione says.
"Apparently not." Harry replies.
"Ugh! I remember reading something about Devil's Snare in Herbology!" Hermione exclaims, pacing the floor.
"Oh yeah! Wasn't it some kind of rhyme?" Ellie asks, catching on to the memory.
"Yes! If I could just..." Hermione racks her brains for the information.
"Oh! I think I remember! Devil's Snare, Devil's snare... it's deadly fun..." Poppy begins.
"But sulks in the sun!" Ellie finishes, suddenly remembering.
"That's it! Devil's Snare hates sunlight! Lumos Solem!" Hermione announces, blinding sunlight shooting from her wand. The vines shrink back, sending a still shrieking Ron tumbling to the ground.
"Ron! Are you alright?" Poppy asks.
"Yeah... lucky we didn't panic!" Ron chirps getting up with a smile.
"Lucky the girls pay attention in Herbology." Harry corrects.
