You Belong With Me by Taylor Swift ^^^
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Tyler's POV:
I drive around the block to pick up Jax from his house. Since I have a car, we've decided on never riding on the bus ever again. "It's too ghetto." I can quote from Jax. He isn't wrong though; there's just an atmosphere of just teenagers that makes the bus awkward and embarrassing. You're probably at your worst and tired, just wanting to back to sleep. That's exactly why I drive to school now.I park in front of Jax's house and honk the horn. He runs out just seconds later, one strap on his shoulder holding his flailing backpack. I reach over and open the door for him on the passenger's side as he slides inside.
"Thanks bro. Donut?" He asks, holding a bag of Shipley's donuts out to me. "How'd you get these?" I ask him, grabbing the white iced from the bag. "My mom went this morning before going to work. She got five bags, on for me, one for each of my sisters, and my dad." He explains as I'm savoring every bite I take.
"Your mom is the best!" I complement, finishing up my white iced. I start driving, driving out of our neighborhood and onto the one way stop to Daylight High.
"So," Jax takes a bite of his glazed donut. With his mouth still full he asks, "How was smooching Katie?"
I can't but smile hearing that sentence. "It was amazing. Unexpected, but amazing!" I smile, remembering how it all went down. I continue to hear Jax consuming his donuts next to me as I'm driving. While grabbing another donut, he says, "I wish I had a girlfriend."
I turn to him and state, "We're not dating Jax. Only friends." Jax rolls his eyes before I look back at the road. "Friends don't kiss and hug each other and want to be together all the time. That's called a relationship bro. You gotta to ask her out. Why would she say no?" He tells me.
What am I waiting for? We've kissed, we like each other, and there's nothing holding us back ... oh wait.
"It's her stepmom," I start, making a left turn. "She doesn't want us to see each other. And, she's banned me from going to their house." I tell Jax.
As I'm driving into the parking lot, Jax starts crumbling up the bag and says, "She doesn't control your life ya know. She's Katie's stepmom, not yours." "I know, but she's a model and I'm pretty sure she could do something to me just for walking on their driveway." I say.
I turn off my car as we get out, getting out backpacks out from the back. I lock my car and we start walking. I look at Jax and instantly laugh. An inch radius around his mouth is covered in glazed icing. I can't help but laugh as Jax asks, "What's so funny?"
"You're wearing a mask of glazing." I tell him. He feels his lips and starts brushing off the glaze. I roll my eyes chuckling and look forward. Standing, probably waiting, by the door I see Kaite and Mary. I soon I make eye contact with Katie, she motions me to come over. "Seem's like Katie has something to tell you." Jax says, moving his eyebrows up and down.
"You're coming with me." I tell him, grabbing his arm and pulling him along. By the door, Katie has her hands in her pocket and Mary is eating a Poptart behind her. We walk up to them smiling and I ask, "Whatcha need Katie?"
She smiles and pulls her hands out her pocket along with a folded piece of paper. "What's that?" I ask her. She doesn't respond but opens up the paper and shows me the inside. In big black sharpie, it says: Would You Go Out With Me T-shirt Guy?
I can't help but smile. I was afraid of asking her out while she was planning to, how ironic.
"Yes Katie, I will." I answer, pulling her towards me and hugging her. "I thought you were going to say no for a second." Kaite whisphers into my ear.
"Never."
