Chapter 9 - Mia POV

I was nervous this morning but after completed the test, big burden was released from my shoulder. I walked down the road to the restaurant. I promised Nick to have lunch together there today.

"Hi Diane," I greeted my colleague waitress, "Can I have a table for two?"

"Yeah, sure," She said in lazy tone to me. She never liked me and I didn't know why.

After I sat down, she put the menu in front of me before she asked, "You want to order now? You know everything in the menu anyway."

"Hey Mia," I heard Nick's voice greeted me. He bowed down and gave me a warm kiss before he sat with me. He opened his menu and looked at Diane, "Hey Diane, one grilled chicken for me with the side salad and mineral water. Thanks."

Diane smiled with her flirty way to Nick and he was acting aloof made me upset.

"What do you want?" she asked me, completely in different way when she talked to Nick.

I gave my order and she then took note and left. I was happy this morning and relieved after the test but now, I completely upset. I was mad and I didn't even know why I felt like that.

"What's wrong?" Nick asked me while his hand stretched on the table to touch mine, "Is it about the exam?"

I looked at him and it made me even more upset knowing he didn't even realized. "It's nothing."

"Mia, what is it?" He looked more serious, maybe he knew how upset I was.

"It's nothing." I emphasized my tone.

"Mia," He talked firmly.

"Here's your order, and Nick baby, this is yours." Diane said, placing our food on the table.

"Thanks Diane," Nick politely said to her, made me even more upset. Thank God, she quickly walked away, because I was almost loose myself.

"Mia, what is it?" Nick asked again.

It made me snapped, "Would you just stop it. I told you, it's nothing."

Luckily it was crowded so only few people around us that could hear me. But it was enough for me to feel bad. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to."

"It's okay, you're right. Let's just eat." He looked down to his food and ignored me.

We ate our lunch in silence and right after we finished, he called Diane and paid our bill before he stood up and said, "Come on, I'll take you home."

I followed him to the car and we drove in silence. It was our first fight and I hated it.

"Nick," I called him. He didn't answer. He didn't even turn to face me. "Nick, are you mad at me?"

He still didn't say anything until we arrived at Nana's and he stopped the car.

"Will you stop by?" I asked him.

"No, I still need to go back to hospital. I'll see you tomorrow."

"You don't have any shifts today. Why you need to go to hospital?"

He looked at me for a few seconds before he said, "Are you telling me what to do?"

I was surprised with his fierce voice that I gulped and shook my head.

"GET OUT OF THE CAR," He said with low firm voice, growled every word to me.

I opened my door and left the car. This morning he promised me that we would discuss with Mrs. Brown about me moving in with him, but seems he forgot about it already.
