The next day we all left from Hangman's Alley. We weren't that far away from Diamond City so we headed out early morning. While we were on our way Nate and I talked about pre-war everything, television, food, the people, everything. It was nice.
"Hey, can we stop here for a minute" I asked them once we were outside of DC.
"Yeah sure."
I needed to take something, buffout, jet, psycho, daytripper, mentats, anything. I'm not an addict, I just like a little something every now and then. Daytripper is the best for me.
I took out some jet and took a hit of it. I turned around, my eyes big and red. I dropped the inhaler and looked around like a kid in a carnival. I saw Nate looking at me but I was high so I didn't care.
"What the fu--?" Nate said coming to me grabbing my face. I just stared at him. "Are you crazy? Are you taking drugs?" He asked me trying to grab my drugs.
I wanted to tell him to 'fuck off' but I can't do that. I giggled intensely, "What's wrong with a little something?" I smiled wide.
"What has happened to you, Ava?" He stormed off. I just stayed where I was and laughed some more until the jet wore off.
Once I realized where we were I went inside, Nate behind me. The Great Green Jewel. "So, what do you think?. I asked Nate as we walked slowly down the steps side by side.
"The stadium.. Oh my--, remember once when we came here?" Nate smiled and so did I. "Just me and you. "
"This is where you'll stay." We made a right in front of 'Power Noodles' and a left to the house I bought. "I bought this for 2000 caps. I fixed it up."
We entered the house, just another familiar place to me, brand new to Nate and Danielle. "Bed's right up the steps, got a couple nuka-cola's back there," I pointed to a nuka-cola machine, "should be food in there. If you get sick from Radiation there's already radaway In here somewhere. I want you two to practice shooting and everything you need to to survive in the common, I know you were in the war so it shouldn't take you that long to get used to the killing and all I guess. But I want you to learn. I'll be back in a couple days. Oh yeah, I grabbed some clothes for y'all," I pointed to the bed upstairs that had greaser jeans, white t shirt, and a greaser jacket laying on it, the other outfit were road leathers. "Bye!" I walled out the door and walked around DC looking for Nick.
I walked into Valentines Detective agency, finally I saw Nick. "Hey Nicky." I said closing the door behind me. "Hey Ava." Ellie waved back before looking back down at the stack of papers sitting on her desk.
"Ready to head out?" Nick asked, his metal fingers taking a cigarette out of his mouth.
"You know it." We both left out of the office and out of Diamond City. I explained to Nick all of what happened as we travelled through the common. Nick gives the best advice, another reason why he's my brother. "So now I need to go find the stuff for Liberty Prime to take down the institute... forever. I already have the magnet all I need is the nukes... in the glowing sea."
"The glowing sea?" We entered Sanctuary and walked to my altered power armor.
"Lets not forget we've been there before Nicky." I entered my power armor and moved my legs, arms and head making sure my power armor wasn't getting rusty. "We should head out now, its already night time. By the time we make it there it'll be sunrise."
"Alright"
"Got everything you need?" I asked packing my oversized book bag(So it could fit on my power armor) with water and radiated foods and weapons.
"Yeah lets head out" Nick put out a cigarette and grabbed his weapon.
We headed south of Sanctuary to the Glowing Sea. It was 10PM when we left Sanctuary and now it was 4AM. 6 hours of constant walking, encountering raiders, irradiated animals and traders. Once we got to the Glowing Sea, Scribe Haylen and a couple other soldiers were waiting for us a little deeper inside. Haylen told me where the bunker was to get the specialized nukes for Liberty Prime. Nick and I went there and set off a thing for the rest of the Brotherhood to find them. Nick and I left the Glowing Sea and went to the Boston airport. We went up into the Prydwen to get some sleep because boy were we going to be busy tomorrow. I kept Nick close because the brotherhood wasn't too.. fond of synths. Once I got to my bed lucky me, guess who I find sitting there. Before he could notice me I hid behind some big box and pulled Nick with me. "Nick!" I yell whispered pointing to my bed. Nick looked over and sighed,
"Just go and talk to him about you know, everything. Plus I'll be right behind you, I don't trust the same people you do up here." Nick looked around at the soldiers before pulling me from behind the box.
"Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. You got this, you're Ava fucking Johnson. THE sole survivor, took out a courser, got inside the Institute, found my son, I got this. Man up you pussy.." I said talking to myself. I walked to my bed and he stood up facing me with pleading eyes. "Hey MacCready." I said breaking the awkward silence.
"Ava, how are you? Are you okay! What happened?" He grabbed me examining my body for marks.
"Mac, sit down. We gotta talk, like I mean this is some crazy shit." We both sat down on my bed. "So, feelings..."
He looked down, his fave was sad. "Hey!" I said quite loud. "It's not anything bad. I just want you to know.... I care for you, like a lot. Now, leave."
"Bu--"
"Leave!"
Once he left I got into my bed and Nick managed to find a spare sleeping bag. He laid it down next to my bed and we both fell asleep.
Why I did that, you ask? Well I get nervous, you know. What if he's like, I just can't replace Lucy.. Ever think of That? Well, I did. I'll talk to him sooner or later.
Time to blow up the institute tomorrow. What will I say to Shaun when I get there? He's going to hate me like everyone else. How will I cope with this? What will Nate think? Oh shit, Nate! I forgot about lil ole him, whoops. I hope he's okay, though I'm growing suspicious of him. I've heard around from people I trust that I can't trust him, he'll just get me killed, his girlfriend hates me so he's going to try to kill me. Should I trust him or them? What happened to this world, my god.
