I apologize for what you are about to read but I really wanted to write this so...

I woke up that Sunday morning blinded by the bright sunlight. I was somewhat confused because I normally wake up before the sun. It was 12:30 and I had slept in. I guess all the excitement caught up to me and I slept all day.

I wasn't as thrilled about the date as I thought I was. I didn't really understand why. He had given me all these feelings of happiness and he had finally asked me out and I wasn't really feeling it. I didn't really question it though. I had never liked a guy like this before so I didn't really know how to feel and if it was okay that I was feeling this way.

I decided to talk to Mikayla about how I was feeling. She had dated guys before so I knew I could trust her. I asked her about her first date and how she felt about all of it.

"I was nervous. I had really liked this guy and I was anxious about everything. From whether he would like my outfit to if the date was going to go well."

I didn't really want to tell her how I was feeling so I ended the conversation there. I didn't want to get her more involved then she already was.

I went to my room and started digging in my closet for something that looked somewhat nice. I knew he said look nice but I was just not feeling it. I decided to wear a nice pair of jeans and a cute shirt I bought two weeks ago that I still haven't worn yet.

He had told me to meet him at Chillies at 6:00 so I waited until 5:30 to leave my house. I didn't live too close to the restaurant so it probably wasn't a smart idea to leave so late, But I had no care in the world for this date.

I was so out of mind. It wasn't really like me to not care about a date like this.

I finally got to the chillies at 6:10. I was ten minutes late but didn't seem to care too much. If anything, Charlie could have thought that I had stood him up and I would care then either. I walked in and found Charlie sitting down, waiting for a table. He was all dressed up in a suit and I instantly felt bad for showing up in jeans and a blouse. At least it looked semi I decent.

He stood up and walked up to me. I saw the disappointment in his face. "Hi Natalie. You look, beautiful" he smiled.

"Hello to you Charlie, you look ravishing" I giggled, trying to not feel bad about my outfit dilemma.

He grinned which made me feel a sense of relief. "So I was thinking that we could catch a movie first if that's alright with you. The theatre is just down the street." He said eager for the date to start. "But get this... ITS A DRIVE IN!" He said with his nerdy self.

I smiled "of course we can! What movie are they playing?"

"The notebook" Charlie said.

I of course just giggled because it was so romantic. "Well I'll leave my car here and we can head over there in your car" I said giddy

"Okay" he stood there awkwardly then put his arm on my back, guiding my to the car. I got in the passengers seat,he got in the driver's seat and drove to the movie.

Once he parked, he got the radio set up so we could hear the movie and soon the movie started. He seemed kinda uncomfortable, all stiff in his seat. I leaned my arm on the door and watched the movie but it was hard. I wanted to be with him, not watch a movie, separated. I decided to lean the other way closer to him as he watched the movie.

I couldn't pay attention so I looked right at him smiling. He made me so happy and he looked handsome in his buttoned up shirt.

Charlie turned his head and looked right at me in the eyes. He could see me through the corner staring. As soon has he turned his head, I quickly turned my back towards the movie. He chuckled and watched the movie again. Once I knew he wasn't looking at me anymore, I turned my head back and started to stare again.

He turned his head again and I tried to do the same thing again but he lightly grabbed my chin and turned my head back to him, making us look at each other face to face. I chuckled.

"You okay? You seem a little off" he asked, so concerned in me.

"Yeah, um, everything's fine" I said, stuttering a bit. He had given me butterflies in my stomach, exactly how Mikayla described. His sea blue eyes were glistening in the dark night.

"You sure?" He got closer to me. We were almost touching noses. "If you aren't and I can do something to fix that, I will"

"Actually you can help. You could kiss me." I said out of nowhere. I didn't know what came over me. It wasn't something I would usually just say.  But I went for it. I needed him.

I obviously caught him off guard but it didn't seem to faze him because less than one second later, he pulled my chin closer to him, we closed our eyes and his soft lips touched mine.

I put my hands around his neck and passionately kissed him back. It was even better than the first time. I felt his warmth against me and while we were still kissing, he turned down the radio a little, so the movie could still be heard but it wasn't loud.

He put his other hand on my cheek and left the kiss, lightly biting my lip just a little. All I could do was smile and I looked right into his eyes endlessly. He smiled and chuckled a bit. "Did that help at all?" he said softly

"Yeah it helped, a lot" I giggled and sat back in my seat, leaning the seat back just a hair. I had felt differently. I liked Charlie and even after all the stuff I did earlier, it seemed to all float away for a bit.

He sat back in his seat, turned up the movie just a little bit and put all his focus on it.

After a while not much happened and we were soon on our way to chilies.

Not much happened at chilies. We both ordered and ate our food and talked like friends would, almost not acknowledging what had happened earlier that night. I was soon on my way home and he was on his way home.

I parked my car at the house, ran inside and fell on the couch, completely satisfied with my life.
