I woke up the next morning and quickly got ready for school. As I was coming out of my room, I saw Liam moving quickly down the stairs as if he was avoiding or running from something.
"Liam Liam Liam, wait up", I shouted. He didn't look back and just stormed out of the house without having breakfast. "What could be wrong with him" I thought.
***
I was sitting at the cafeteria with Katie during lunch time. Katie couldn't stop going on and on about prom which was only a month away. It was exciting to hear about prom but I had a lot of studying to do before our exams because i had missed a couple of months.Dee can we go do our prom shopping tomorrow before all the good dresses are bought? What colour of dress do you think be suitable for me? Should i wear heals or flats? Who do you think is going to be the prom queen?
I couldn't bear any more of Katie's talking. With this talking and questioning skill of hers, i think she might make a good reporter someday.
I rolled my eyes to look elsewhere in frustration but saw Liam looking at me as if there were clues to finding the answer of a question on my face.
What was really wrong with Liam that he was behaving this way. He has been this way since our food fight last night. Did i do or say something unknowingly?
"Hey Andy, whats up" a voice came from behind me which brought me out of my reverie. I turned round to see who it was and behold it was a tall handsome guy with black hair, blue eyes and a great body frame but he was still lacking in front of Liam.
What can i do for you? I asked while looking straight into his eyes. My therapist had told me that i can always tell who is telling lies by looking them straight in the eyes. She told me that people might want to use my condition to their advantage so this was a good strategy to use against them.
I'm Adrian, a good friend of yours but I'm sure you don't remember me. Would you like to go with me to dinner today, he said while stuttering a lot.
As i was about to give him a fitting reply, Liam walked up to Adrian and gave him a stern look. "Would you back off Adrian and stop trying to take advantage of the situation" Liam said to Adrian.
Suddenly, i felt a hand pulling mine, I looked and it was Liam. He pulled me out of the cafeteria and i just followed him without saying anything.
We sat on the chair at the school garden without saying a word for almost thirty minutes. I decided to break the silence, "thanks for your help back at the cafeteria".
"No problem, it's my duty as your brother and besides, we made a twin pact to always be there for each other".
Liam raised the hand of his T-shirt revealing a tattoo which L&A was boldly written on it. "Wow that's beautiful" I blurted out. "You have one also" he said as he lifts up the hand of my top.
There was no tattoo of any sort on my arm. This was weird, I thought. How was it possible that i don't have a tattoo when Liam clearly said we did it together. I turned to look at Liam but he was putting on the same weird look on his face as he did yesterday after our food fight and this morning in the cafeteria.
"I just remembered i have plans this afternoon and I need to leave right now. See you in the evening" Liam said while already leaving in a hurry.
What could be going on in Liam's mind?
