THE DOUBLE

Chapter 27

I woke up only to see the most beautiful set of eyes staring at me. I can't believe we slept in the same room.
"how was your night " he asked using his fingers to put hair behind my ear.  "it was fine thanks to you" I said smiling.

"Are you both going to sleep here all day or are you going to get ready for school" Andy asked as she burst into the room.

"I'm not going to school or don't you remember" I replied.
"yeah that's right" Liam added.
"Yes you are" she said folding her hands.
"how is it possible for me to go to school with you guys" I asked again.

"I talked to the principal. I told him you have been sick all session and you wanted to graduate this year. He told me if you could study hard and pass all the test the other students had already written, do all the required assignments, and most of all do well in your exam, there is no reason why you wouldn't graduate with us" she explained.

"OMG!!!  You are awesome" I yelled and hugged Andy.
"Dee... Is there something else you want to add" Liam said in a disbelieving tone.
"OK fine. I promised him six free tickets for my next concert. Who knew the principal was one of my  numerous fans".

"I guess you're graduating after all" he smiled already making his way out of the bed.

"how did you guys end up sleeping in the same room" Andy curiously asked.
"hmm... I thought I saw someone pass through my window last night while it was raining so Liam decided to stay with me"  I explained but Andy's expression soon changed from curiosity to insecurity.

"Is there something you want to tell me" Liam asked as if he was her father maintaining a straight posture in front of her.
"No... Nothing" she stuttered.
"you know very well that you can't lie to me" he shifted his weight from one foot to the other folding his arms.

Was this an interrogation?

"fine. Jackie wasn't imagining things...the thing is...someone came to See me last night"
"who was it" he asked again. I guess he was trying to play the concerned brother card when he practically lives with his girlfriend. That's me of course.
"it's a friend of mine or should say my boyfriend" she said rushing out of the room while Liam followed her pace. "do I know him" he yelled behind her.

It was nice seeing Liam this happy and I want everything to remain like this. I quickly showered. It was my first day in school as Jackie. I didn't know what to put on. I went through all the clothes Liam had bought for me the previous day but I still couldn't decide.
After a long time of deliberation,  I finally settled with a white blazer skirt and a black crop top. I combed my hair and let it fall down my shoulders after which I used a little makeup which I don't normally use.
Something in me wanted to look exceptionally beautiful today. It felt like I've been reborn.

"Jackie are you planning on spending the rest of the day up there" Liam yelled.

I quickly gave Lucie her breakfast, picked my kitty bag and hurried downstairs.

I walked down the stairs with Liam looking at me from down the stairs. It was like one of those fairy tales when the princess walks down the stairs gracefully and her Prince Charming would stair at her lovingly waiting to take her hands.
Liam's eyes was completely fixed on me as walked down the stairs. I was lost in his eyes with every step I took. Just as I was about to reach my destination, I missed a step and thud... I landed on the floor.

"are you alright" Liam chuckled.
Why can't I seem to do anything right. I just spoilt this wonderful moment with my clumsiness.
"you can laugh all you want" I angrily stood up. Wasn't he supposed to be worried but instead he laughed.
"I'm sorry but I couldn't hold it in" he snickered.
"well keep laughing all you want. I'm going to school with Andy today" I said walking walking away partly ashamed and angry.
