Chapter 2

Chloe pov

I shot up I'm freezing. I look around and see I'm laying on cold hard wood. I look around and start to remember the earlier events. I hurry and look around the tree house for David. He wasn't in here. Across the the tree house though was maddie. she looked completely drained but asleep. Knowing the events that just occurred I know I have to go check and make sure she's ok. I go to stand up but instantly fall down and feel a throbbing on the side of my neck. I can't believe he bit me !

Obviously he didn't turn me though because I would be in more pain and would not have woke yet. Why didn't David just kill me ? he could have easily just sucked me dry. Now my head pounds in my ears. "Oh great now I could really use some medication." I say sarcastically to myself.

"Chloe?" Maddie whispers obviously hearing my rant. Forgetting about my pain I crawl over to her and start checking for injury. Lucky for David there seems to be none."Chloe you need to talk to david." I just stare at my best friend confused." why I should go kill him! We kill his kind! also don't forget he did something to you and bit me!"

She looks at me and nods her head in agreement and says "but he also kills our kind and he didn't kill us." she does have a point. the thought of killing David though was like a stab in gut. I feel like he is suppose to protect me. he would never hurt me. wait what ? He's a vampire! a vampire Chloe!

"Stop having inner arguments with yourself." maddie says annoyed. I can't help but to giggle at how well she knows me. "maddie can u get up ?" I ask with full intention on getting out of here."i think so" she says slowly getting up.

I look out the window and look at the ground. No signs of David anywhere I let a breath I didn't even realize I was holding go."ready to jump ? David broke the ladder so we gotta jump." I say with full confidence. I mean it's not like I haven't done it before.

"Oh he's a dick. just cause he has one Doesn't mean he has to be one." She says bitterly."wait are we sure he even has one ?" maddie asks trying to be completely serious. "Maddie!" I screeched pissed she said that about him. I wanted to defend him. Wait no he bite me he's a vampire I hate him. Just then I feel another Stab to my gut. I gotta get this checked out I might be coming down with something.

"What like you care! it will never happen any way with him being a vamp and all."she says completely honest. That thought stabbed through me and I felt tears prick my eyes. wtf? I know I have liked him since the 1st grade but this is insane!

I jump first hitting the ground with a thud. I look up and scream "ok maddie jump!" in the matter of seconds she is beside me adjusting her shirt. we walk home deciding to leave David a secret.

I walk into the house and walk up the stairs. My parents are most likely out hunting David's so I don't have to worry about them. I lift up my bed and pull out the blood red journal that says "fangs suck!" I laugh thinking got that right. I walk over to my window seat and open up the window the rain has finally stopped and all is left is that just rained scent.

I begin to write about my encounter with David. Once I am done I stand up to put it back under my mattress. As I step away a hand pulls me back down in my seat. I see blue eyes David's blue eyes. I'm speechless all I want is to pull him closer. "good night chloe"he says in almost a whisper. He tucks the now dry curls behind my ear and pecks my lips.

He jumps out my window And runs half way down my yard before looking back. All I see is a shine in those bright hypnotizing eyes. Then he turns again and is gone.
