Chapter 5- バレーボール (volleyball)

I happily approached the volleyball gym with Iwaizumi's kitbag I forgot to give back to him after fixing it (I may have gotten carried away and sewed his initials on it and gave a touch up to the school's logo/name). Even from outside, I could hear the sound of the volleyball's hitting the floor. The dynamic sound made my hair stand on end (in a good way of course). Just as I opened the door, I saw a white, red and green ball spinning towards me and I knew I was doomed.

"Heads!" Someone shouted, a bit too late, as the ball smacked me square in the head, knocking me to the floor unconscious.

I woke up with a throbbing pain in my head and opened my eyes to bright light. Sounds of volleyballs hitting a gym floor reminded me of what happened. I sat up, realising I was on a bench, which I proceeded to fall off, landing with a loud thud on the floor.

"Ah! She's awake!" One of the boys hollered to everyone. I sat up again, rubbing the back of my head, now surrounded by volleyball players.

"Are you alright?" One with close cropped, dark brown hair, olive coloured skin and blue eyes asked, holding out a hand for me.

"I'm fine thank you." I stood up myself, dusting my skirt off (although there was no dust).

"Sorry you got hit in the head, I didn't receive it properly and it spun off." A boy with neat hazel coloured hair and brown eyes apologised.

"It's fine, I'm used to it!" I dismissed. Realisation on what I said dawned on me when I felt the boys' confused stares at me as I began to sweat nervously.

"It's sleepy girl!" My face flushed a bright vermillion when I heard my first nickname from Aoba Johsai being called (I was already mentally preparing to move school again).

"Sleepy girl?" The others questioned. My fight or flight instinct kicked in, I was ready to run all the way to the mountains.

"Ah! It's Hoshi-chan!" A familiar voice chimed.

"Oi, don't address her so informally, you've only known her for a day." I recognised the second voice as Iwaizumi (of course, he's in the volleyball club- DUH! I'm so stupid).

"I-Iwaizumi," I couldn't see him, so calling him out was my idea, "D-Did you get the kitbag?"

"Yeah, thanks. You did a really good job." Finally I saw Iwaizumi, standing by Oikawa, who was waving happily at me (I waved back).

"Hehe, I'm glad! I kind of got carried away fixing the logo... And the name..." I giggled, staring at my feet bashfully.

"Wah~ I'm so jealous Iwa-chan~! Your bag looks so good, almost brand new! Ne Hoshi-chan, could you fix mine? Please~?" Oikawa begged cutely, making me flustered.

"U-Uh sure..?" I squeaked. His eyes sparkled in delight and in a flash, his bag was shoved in my face.

"Ok trashykawa! Leave her alone! She has better things to do than sew your kit bag!" Iwaizumi scolded, smacking the excited captain on the head.

"Ittai Iwa-chan! She sewed yours up!" He whined childishly.

"I can do it, it's fine. I really don't mind! I'm glad to be of help!" I grinned widely. Iwaizumi blushed and averted his gaze elsewhere (did I do something?).

"If you say so." He grunted, Oikawa cheering.

"Yay~! Thanks Hoshi-chan! Can you write 'captain' on mine? Please?" I couldn't say no to his adorable expression.

"Sure!" I agreed happily (that's so many letters to sew!).

"You're the best Hoshi-chan!" The handsome sportsman hugged me tightly to his chest, my face blushing even more.

"O-Oikawa-San! Please let me go!"

"Oi! Let her go!" Iwaizumi (thank God- I can breathe!) pulled the male off, who was pouting, but at the same time, excited for his new bag.

"E-Excuse me..." I turned to be faced with the rest of the team standing with their kitbags.

"S-Sure!" I said shakily, my vision being crowded with Aoba Johsai kitbags (WHY DID I SAY YES?! HELP ME!).
