Chapter 15 - ピンク(pink)
Jahina's head fell on my shoulder making my hair stand on end.
"O-Oi..!" My shoulders slumped as I realised she was asleep. I don't blame her, that "procedure" was... Just the thought of it sent chills down my spine, I was sure I'd never forget that feeling.
~I'm sure y'all are wondering what happened so let's make a time machine and go back to the doctor's room~
The doctor got Jahina and I to sit on opposite sides of the table, getting me to hold her arm- firmly the doctor instructed. I'm pretty sure I wasn't the only one to notice the doctor had a hand behind their back. Must be an injection, hiding so she wouldn't get scared by it.
"Look the other way dear, look at that poster and read to us what it says." The doctor said kindly. I could feel Jahina tensing up, but she did as told anyway.
Oh man, I would've ran for the hills once I saw the size of the injection.
I could tell Jahina was dying to turn around and see the medical instrument, but it was better if she didn't. Man, I wish I didn't see it.
(A/N: cringe warning, sorry if you're squirmish)
I bit my lip as the doctor rammed the injection in her arm, injecting the substance in her bone. A whimper escaped Jahina's lips as she scrunched her eyes shut.
(cringe over for now)
"You're doing so well. Almost done." The doctor comforted, giving me a quick look.
What was I doing? I should be the one assuring her!
"You can complain if you like, it's alright to complain, especially at a time like this." What was I saying? That was so lame! Even the doctor is laughing at my poor choice of words! Hell, what do you say to comfort someone who's having an injection literally stabbed in them?!
"Y-You sure you won't regret letting me complain Iwa-chan?" Jahina laughed weakly.
"Positive."
"Then..." She took a deep breath. "This hurts! A lot!"
"Read the poster, okay?" The doctor offered.
"My contacts slipped! My eyes are watery! I can't read anything!" She whined desperately, fighting the urge to turn around like it was a really bad itch.
Thankfully, the doctor pulled out the needle, wiping the one drop of blood forming on her skin.
"Ouch!"
"Sorry about that, but it's nearly done." The doctor disposed of the injection then said I could let go of her arm.
"Why can't I feel my arm?" The panic began to rise in her voice.
"Hey, it's okay." I kneeled in front of her so she didn't look at the doctor, who sent a thankful look my way. "Say, what colour do you want your cast?"
(cringe again~)
"Pink!" She answered almost immediately, although the tears were still in her eyes. In one swift movement, the doctor moved the bones back so they weren't buldging out her skin, Jahina yelping in response to the feeling.
(cringe over~)
A couple of tears slipped down her cheeks as her lip quivered, attempting to stop more tears from fallling. I wiped the tears, giving her a soft smile.
"It's over now. You did a good job."
"I'm sorry, I tried not to cry but I got myself all worked up." She sniffled, rubbing the edges of her eyes.
~
So here we were on the bus back, Jahina snoozing on my shoulder, her features relaxed and untroubled with her new bright pink cast. Cute..
My phone began to buzz in my pocket. I looked at the caller ID.
Trashykawa
"How's my little Hoshi-chan? Is she okay? Did she have to have an operation? Is she awake?" I took the phone away from my ear as he yelled down the phone loudly.
"Oi shut up, she's sleeping." I cast a look down to where she was still fast asleep. "She didn't need an operation, just an x-ray and the bone got popped back in place."
"It really hurt."
I jumped as said girl woke up and was leaning over me to speak in the phone to speak to Oikawa.
"Is that Hoshi-chan? Thank God you're okay! Does it hurt?"
"Sorry if I woke you up." I leaned back, trying to ignore how close she was to me trying to reach my phone.
"It's... okay... I woke up on my own." She stifled a yawn, rubbing her eyes sleepily in the most adorable way possible.
"Ah, I see..." I tried to avert my gaze from her so she wouldn't see my red cheeks.
"Sign my cast Iwa-chan~" She pleaded, still some sleep swirling in her hazel eyes. I couldn't say no.
"Sure."
"Don't forget about me!"
