Chapter 11- 朝列車 (morning train)

Iwaizumi's P.O.V

"Ah! It's Hoshi-chan!" Oikawa shook my arm, pointing to the short bronde (A/N- yes BRONDE, brown + blonde) that jumped onto the train, just about missing the closing of the doors.

"Don't you dare shout on the train." I threatened, knowing he might call out to her. Besides, she wouldn't hear him, she has earphones in.

I wonder what music she was listening to...

She held onto the bar, staring off into space like she usually does. Or so you'd think. Follow her line of vision and you'd see she's watching what's going on around her carefully. Her hazel eyes slowly inched their way around the people, getting closer to Oikawa and I until her eyes finally landed on us after an eternity. I expected some sort of reaction, but she didn't seem to recognise us and went back to staring out the window. Oikawa wasn't paying attention, still half asleep from me waking him up this morning, and clearly she was too.

My own powers of observation kicked in when I saw a boy from another school watching her with a small smirk resting on his face. I kept my guard up, making sure he didn't do anything. Jahina surely noticed with her super observation skills. I frowned and gripped the pole tighter when the boy stood up, indiscreetly making his way towards her. Jahina held her nerve, still watching the passing scenery. Then he got too close, practically breathing on her neck, pretending to bump into her, snapping her out her thoughts. Her eyes were a little wide in surprise, then she shuffled away awkwardly, apologising to the boy. He continued to persist, Jahina looking like she was in no mood to deal with him. I had enough and pushed my way past the people, Oikawa catching drift of what I was doing, following behind me; we got close enough to hear Jahina and the boy.

"Hoshino? That's a cute name!"

"Thank you..."

"Aren't you going to ask me for my name?"

"... What's your name?"

"My name is Kiyoshi! And my number is-"

"Hey." I interrupted them.

Jahina's eyes widened in surprise and a look of relief washed across her features. "Iwa-chan! Oikawa-San!"

"Didn't think we'd bump into you this morning." I nodded to her.

Oikawa greeted her before turning to the boy with a mean glare.

"I wasn't doing anything!" He defended, though both he, Oikawa and I knew he was lying through his teeth.

"Excuse me Kiyoshi," Jahina interrupted our silent fight, "I think this is your stop."

The train stopped and the doors open, the boy scowling before adjusting his bag and getting off the train.

"It was nice meeting you Kiyoshi~" She waved tiredly as he clicked his tongue and disappeared from sight.

"You didn't need to be so nice to guys like him." I scoffed, glad the boy was on the platform and we were on the train, separated by doors.

"Hoshi-chan! You need to be more careful!" Oikawa lectured, all sleepiness shaken out of him as he shook Jahina's shoulders until her eyes were swirling.

"Sor...ry..." She mumbled out, still swaying slightly, Oikawa's words going straight through one ear and out the other.

I sighed and shook my head. I agreed, but it couldn't be helped. I watched the way she stared out the window, sleepiness swirling around her honey hazel eyes.

"You know what? Give me your phone and you can have our numbers just to be safe!" Oikawa suggested. To this, Jahina snapped out her trance.

"Hm?"

"Add us on your phone, so you can call us whenever you need." I repeated, her mouth an 'o' shape. She gingerly handed her phone to Oikawa to punch in his name with a bunch of hearts and his numbers, then handing it to me. Since she was staring out the window, I decided to see what she was listening to in her headphones.

I was caught off guard when an earbud was held out to me. Jahina was still looking out the window, but she was holding it out for me to take.

"You should listen, it's a good song."

I accepted her offer and put the earbud in. It almost seemed as if the world fell silent and I think I could understand what Jahina was feeling and thinking.
