You and Freddy sat together on his platform as you were about to begin examining his broken speaker. You went through the bag of tools, picking out ones you were sure to help you in fixing his voice. You and Freddy had been talking about your life back on the surface and school.
"Yeah, I was a weirdo, honestly. It didn't bother me; I liked being weird," you told Freddy as you set a tool aside. You looked up and smiled. "Being a mechanic at that age was not bad either. I made good money fixing phones, computers, and I actually saved the talent show one year when the lights went out!" You laughed, remembering the occasion.
Freddy chuckled and Bon-Bon giggled with you.
You sighed, looking down at the tools, "And look at me know, a technician for some of the highest machinery in town. I studied the basics of animatronics, but I say, you guys are more high tech than what I'm experienced with," you chuckled.
"Th-Thank you..." Freddy said softly.
You nodded, giving him a smile. "Okay, you ready? You're gonna need to open your chest up so I can get a better look, of course."
Freddy nodded and his chest immediately opened. He blushed pink and as he watched you lean in and look at his speaker.
"There's a bit of dust here," you noted, blowing on the speaker, causing Freddy to shudder. You looked up and chuckled, "Sorry." You examined the speaker, looking around the edges for a opening. Luckily it didn't take long to find it.
Freddy squeaked and tried to give you the best concentration. He eyed Bon-Bon, huffing as his face reddened more. Bon-Bon, don't put those thoughts in my head now! I need to not move so she can focus!
The bunny giggled. You're sooo into her, Freddy! The look on your face explains it so much!! Why not just tell her how you feel?
Are you crazy?! I would never! At least...not now...she could never love me. I'm an animatronic, remember?
Bonnie rolled his eyes. Like that matters!
"Okay, found the problem," you told the two, pulling your head out and looking up at Freddy. "There's just a few loose wires. I can repair them easily and be done in minutes. Just stay still and tell me when something, uh, hurts..." you leaned back in and took off the speaker head, setting it down on your lap. You picked up a tweezer-like tool and began putting the wires back into place. You found one to be split in the middle. "Bon-Bon, get me the electrical tape, please."
Bon-Bon did so, grabbing the tape and handing it to you as he sat on your lap. You thanked him and began taping the wire together to keep it stable. After what seemed to be minutes, as predicted, you were done. You screwed the speaker head back into place and closed up his chest cavity. "Okay, we're done! Try speaking for me, pal."
Freddy felt hesitant, worried it wouldn't work. He cleared his throat. "Do I still sound like myself?"
You smiled widely. "Yay! It works! You don't stutter anymore!!" You watched as Freddy's smile widened, and you hugged him. "Great! Now you can sing even better than before!"
Freddy blushed and hugged you back. "Thanks, (Y/N)!" He said happily, giggling like a school girl. He looked at his hand puppet who was wide eyed.
"Freddy, you sound amazing!" Bon-Bon complemented, attaching to Freddy's arm.
You watched as the two did a small skit between each other, and you yawned. "Well, it's getting late. I may get some shut eye for tonight, but at least we got your voice fixed!" You yawned again, grabbing your blanket from your suit case and laying down on the floor.
