You adjusted your ID, hoping it was straight on your collar before leaving the elevator after it reached the top floor. You sighed shakily, concerned with how you'd approach Mr. Afton about his animatronic not being able to perform as previously planned. After all, he had asked you to look into Freddy's system and unusual behaviors, so if you did find something that needed to be tweaked, he'd surely understand. Though, you already knew him in other ways, not just how'd he'd act when it involved you and your job. He was a psychopath, one who built animatronics with the design and programming to kill off children they could catch alone. Yes, they killed many children before you arrived, but it all fell back on him, now. He designed them. It was his choice. He's the real monster, a murderer hiding behind a fake smile. You took a deep breath. You had to keep your cool when you approached him just as you have always done before. Whatever he asked, you would answer with a smile and be serious about it, too. "I can do this...I can do this." You took a few more breaths as the elevator opened up, the dining room welcoming you once again, but this time it was clean and less flashy. You walked out, looking around. You didn't see the owner in sight, meaning he likely didn't hear the elevator, either. You slowly made your way toward the offices, figuring he was still in his office before he opened the place up to the afternoon lunch rush. You held your arm, looking to the empty, curtained stage. You followed along the wall to the office area, looking at the left side of the building at the party rooms as you made your way through the dining room. You were a little worried about leaving Freddy after all the mess that's happened, but you knew he'd be okay. He has Bon-Bon. He'll be okay.
You stopped at the door to Afton's office. You held your hands in front of you, looking the door up and down. You haven't really gone to his office before, so your first time was rather worrisome. You looked at the gold plate on the front of the door, a little bear engraved on the front just before his name. You huffed a bit. That character doesn't look like any of the ones here. You sighed and decided not to worry about something so small and insignificant. You gently knocked on the door. "Mr. Afton, are you in, by chance? It's me, (Y/N). I have some news to share about your animatronics!" You could hear the old man call to you from inside, welcoming you in. You slowly opened the door. "Good morning sir, I thought I'd stop by early to give you the news on what I found."
Afton, sitting behind his desk and working a pen to paper, looked up from his work. He gave a crooked smile as he slowly sat up in his leather chair. "Ah, good morning ma'am." He nodded and smiled. "I hope you had a decent night overlooking my animatronics?"
You nodded and stood with your hands behind your back. You put on that smile you forced yourself to fake out for the time being. "Yes sir, they were as good as ever!"
Afton raised an eyebrow, his smile somewhat fading a bit. "Is that so?" He squinted a little behind the reading glasses he was wearing.
You whimpered in your throat. What's that look...? "Well, at least, that's what I would say if there wasn't an issue I ran into..." you mumble, catching yourself quickly in order to pull your ass out of future trouble. "I did as you asked and checked over Freddy last night in my spare time." You pointed to your fingers, counting out two. "There were two things I found that were, unfortunately, causing him problems. I'm afraid I couldn't find the real reason for the problems, not yet at least. I wanted to take today to go over him, no payment required of course—" you growled at yourself in thought, knowing how annoying it was going to be to not get paid. But, you reminded yourself you were living with these robots now, whether you were getting paid extra or not, you were always down there. "I'm sorry to inform you that Freddy cannot perform today, for the sake of the restaurant's reputation, of course."
Afton slowly nodded, humming to himself as he set his pen down on his desk. "I see Miss (L/N). Perhaps you can tell me what those problems are? I need to be aware and keep a physical record of why he's having mechanical issues." He lifted his pen and pulled out a notepad, opening it up in front of him. He clicked the pen, then looked up. "Please, start whenever."
