Despite being so reluctant, Freddy allowed you to walk with your own two feet on the way back to the Gallery, though he didn't stray far from you. He stayed at your side, now and again asking if you were feeling okay or if you wanted him to carry you again. While you appreciated his concern, you reminded him that it was just your arm that was hurting. The rest of you was perfectly fine. Although, you couldn't ignore how cute it was that he cared so much. He was likely traumatized by the event, and you couldn't blame him. Part of you was also traumatized, but you didn't want to tell him that. You wanted to hide that for as long as you could.

"Are you sure?"

Freddy's fifth time asking you the same question distracted you from your thoughts. "Yes, Freddy, I'm sure of it," you cooed to him, smiling as you gently rubbed his cheek, hearing him giggle weakly in return. "Silly bear, you worry too much," you told him, hoping your light-hearted voice would ease the robot.

Freddy smiled a little, but it faded as he sighed and looked away. "I'm just looking out for ya," he whimpered quietly, his eyes scanning the darkroom as if a predator lurked within it, waiting to pounce. "I feel I have to make up for it," he finished, returning his attention to you just slightly with the corner of his eye.

So he is thinking about it still. I mean, of course, he is. He wouldn't be so concerned if he wasn't. He's probably more traumatized than I am. You shook your head. "We've been over this, you don't need to make up for a single thing," you reassured him, hoping this time he'd believe you, though you didn't quite believe yourself either. You grabbed his hand as you stopped, smiling warmly as you looked up at him. Would your sweet face be enough to persuade him?

Freddy blushed weakly as he stopped as well. He took a deep breath, feeling his servos click inside him. He hummed softly, his eyes lidding as he looked into yours. "I'm sorry," he muttered and lowered his head. "You're right," he admitted weakly, though not all of him was truthful to it. He didn't have to tell you that, though.

You chuckled, lifting your hand and holding his head up again. You gently rested your forehead against his. "It's okay. It's going to be over soon, and we can look back at it and laugh someday." You giggled, shrugging a bit as you took a breath. I hope we can. You then leaned in and kissed his metal lips, closing your eyes. You weren't sure what prompted you to make the move out of nowhere, but you felt it would help the two of you feel at ease again. For a moment, you thought he had tensed up, maybe scaring him with your action. However, the expression he made told you otherwise.

Freddy's ears wiggled, and he smiled happily. He closed his eyes as he slowly moved closer and held you to him. He shuddered, his metal heart racing ever so quietly in his chest. Was he suppose to be close like this? He was before back in the Breaker Room, he thought, yet that was before, and now he was out in the open with you in the same way. The feeling made him shudder anxiously, finding enjoyment in it somehow. He couldn't find the reason why. He started thinking back to it: you laying beneath him made him feel so different, the soft feeling of your skin against his good hand made him weak. He never knew how beautiful you were until he was so close. How...how did I manage to get so close? It felt so real—too real.

You could feel his suit warm-up against your skin, making you shiver in excitement. You tried to calm your anxious mind, reminding yourself that you and the animatronic were taking slow and easy steps into this "relationship". You were no ordinary couple, and no one would ever believe you if you tried to explain. That part was going to be tricky. Sure, you didn't think you'd ever have to explain it because they'd stay in the safety and comfort of whatever you called home. Even then, it was still unexplainable as to how a child's entertainment attraction could find a partnership with a human. What if I'm questioned about—you shook your head quickly. You wouldn't discuss that with yourself until later. Despite the confusion and unexplainable circumstances, you knew Freddy was all but any old kid's attraction. As a vessel to lost souls, he took the responsibility to carry those souls and their feelings. Your eyes widened for a moment, realization captivating you.
