Chapter 14: Abel
I don't get it. One minute Maddie's happy that I saved her life, and then the next minute she's got an attitude with me? I seriously don't get girls, sometimes.
I honestly don't know if I did something wrong, or if it's her 'Time of the Month', but whatever; when I left her alone in my room, we were kind of cool, again.
I called the gang to tell them that Maddie and I weren't coming back to 'Kiss Land' that night. They began childishly wolf whistling down the phone thinking I was going to get laid tonight, but whatever.
I then began to flick through channels, but I couldn't really find anything interesting. Like seriously, who the hell watches teleshopping stuff? I changed the channel to Cartoon Network, and I left the programme on Adventure Time.
I fucks with Adventure Time. Those are my niggas right there.
I could hear water pouring down from Maddie having a shower, so I increased the volume. About half an hour passed and the show finished, so there was nothing else to do but flick through random channels.
I was beginning to settle down into relaxation until I heard a scream. I wasn't sure if it was actually coming from inside my apartment, so I paused the television to see if I would hear it again. I heard the scream again, this time from my room. I immediately darted to my room.
Once I got to my room, I rapidly opened the wooden door, and flicked the light switch on.
I saw Maddie on my bed with crumpled covers on, having a fight with the air. She was screaming at the same time. Her hairs were in different directions, and she was sweating profusely.
I sighed loudly to myself. She was probably having nightmares about the man at the club. Either that, or she found and popped one of my mollies.
I quickly went over to her, and I softly shook her out off her sleep. She was still fighting for a bit, but after a while, she opened her eyes widely. Maddie looked around the room, and then she burst into tears.
"Shh," I said soothingly, guiding her head to my chest, "tell me what's wrong."
"He was...out to get... me," she explained to me in between soft sobs, "but nobody... was there, Abel. Not... even you."
It honestly hurt me to see her like that. I reached my thumbs out to swipe the tears from under her eyes. But even though she was crying, her hair was in different directions, and she had no make-up on, she still looked beautiful. I sighed. Her turquoise eyes still made her look angelic, goddess-like.
I peered down slightly, to see which outfit of mine she chose to sleep with. I saw that it was one of my 'XO' tank tops. It was slightly oversized which made it hang on her, so it revealed a small amount of cleavage. I stared for a while, until I realised that I was objectifying her; she shouldn’t be treated like that. So I turned my attention back to Maddie once she stopped crying.
"So..." I began awkwardly, "are you okay, now?"
She nodded with a quick, forceful smile. Figuring that she would want to be left alone, I rubbed her back, and stood up to go back to the living room.
"Stay." Maddie commanded.
Her voice was very faint, and I almost didn't hear her. I looked back at her on my bed. She looked very scared, and red rings were circling around her turquoise eyes. But damn. My tank top was hugging her curves in all the right places. She looked so fucking sexy. And the way she was laying on my bed; in that specific position, yearning my touch.
She's a fucking juxtaposition.
"Stay, Abel," she repeated, "sleep with me."
Her words kept on repeating over and over again in my head:
Stay, Abel.
Sleep with me.
Sleep with me.
Sleep with me.
