World: Real Life (Kinda)

Tommy was nervous, to say the least.

He was actually gonna do this. Wow. He had finally gathered the courage to a couple weeks ago, and decided tonight was the night. He was gonna ask out one of his greatest friends. On a date.

Oh god, was this actually a good idea? Maybe he should just forget the whole thing and have a normal night. Then he'd never have to deal with knowing if Nick liked him back or not.

No, he had to do this. He wasn't gonna be a coward. Besides, if Nick said no, at least Tommy wouldn't have to fret over him anymore.

Tommy gulped, and made his way into the living room, where he found his roommate sitting on the couch, looking at his phone with the TV playing softly in the background.

Nick looked up at the arrival of a new person. He looked back down, though, when he realized that it was just Tommy.

"Hey, Tom." He greeted.

"Hey Nick." Tommy said, then hesitantly added on, "Can I ask you a question?"

"Sure." Nick looked back up at him. "Ask away."

Tommy gulped again, he knew how he wanted to start this, but it didn't come out as clear as he wanted it to. He was sure he was blushing a bit.

"So, uh... You remember that one time we were recording a Gmod Murder for your channel, and you said something to me, I think you were just greeting me, and I accidently responding by saying "hey, baby"?" The words tumbled out. Nick raised an eyebrow at him.

"Yeah...?" He questioned, not 100% where this was going.

"Then you joked about how we should go out sometime?"

"Uh-huh..."

"Well I was wondering if maybe you'd actually like to go out with me sometime?" Tommy said so quickly, Nick had to think a moment about the words, but when it hit him, his face turned from confused to surprised very quickly.

Nick looked back down to turn off his phone, once he did he put it down next to him, then looked back at Tommy. Tommys face was extremely flushed and he was biting his lip. If Nick didn't know better, he would've said that Tommy looked like he was about to cry.

Before Nick could answer him or ask questions, though, Tommy interrupted.

"I mean, you don't have to. I was just wondering. But it's cool, I'd understand. I just thought maybe you'd like to, but whatever."

"Tommy." Nick said in between his little rant. Tommy stopped and looked at him. Nick smiled. "I'd love to."

Tommy grinned weakly in return.

"R-really?" He stuttered some.

"Yeah! What'd you have in mind?"

"Well, honestly, I kinda didn't think I'd get this far. I didn't think you'd say yes."

Nick chuckled a bit, then patted the space on the couch next to him, motioning for Tommy to come sit down. Which he did.

"Well..." Tommy started, thinking. "I'm not even sure what kinds of things they have around here." He was referring to the city they were in now. They'd only been living here about a month, and didn't know much about the place.

"Yeah, me neither. I know there's some good restaurants, though, if you were thinking about dinner."

Tommy nodded, but looked as if he was still thinking about something else.

"Isn't there an ice skating rink around somewhere? More importantly, is that something you'd want to do?"

"That sounds fun. I've been ice skating a few times, so I'm pretty decent. I'm guessing you'd be interested, too, since you suggested it?"
