World: Real Life (Kinda)

Yet another thing fell off of the table. It was just a cheap mug, but still half full, it hit the ground and shattered, the liquid inside splashing everywhere.

"God-fucking-dammit!" Tommy cursed loudly, burying his head in his hands. Earlier it had been an clean plate slipping out of his hands when trying to move it from dish washer to cupboard, that smashed too. Then all of his music sheets had also fallen off the table and scattered everywhere on the floor.

And on top of it all, it was just one of those days. The ones where you get up but are just completely miserable. He sighed and got up from his chair. Bending down to carefully pick up the shattered glass, he gathered up all the big pieces and placed them in a bin to be properly disposed of later.

And just his luck, and by some random shift of his hand, he cut himself with one of the sharper edges. Wincing, he placed the rest of the glass he could in the bin and went to clean his hand. There was alot more blood than there probably should be.

He put a couple band-aids over the cut for now, it was the best he could do at the time. He cleaned up the rest of the glass with no more problems, fortunately. Then he cleaned what he could of the drink that had splattered.

Then he sat back down at his laptop to finish what he was doing. His hand hurt, and he bit his lip in pain.

Then the front door of the apartment opened.

"Tommy?" Nick questioned. "I'm home."

"I'm at the table!" Tommy called back. A moment later and Nick rounded the corner to the room. They smiled at each other and Nick walked over, placing a small kiss on Tommys forehead. Tommy looked at him in a half-pout, staying that way until Nick sighed and kissed his lips aswell. Tommy smiled.

"How was your day?"

"Fine, Uni was extra salty for some reason and Jon was... well he's Jon." Nick chuckled softly.

"That doesn't surprise me. Dead by Daylight?" He said, adding the question a moment later.

"Yeah. Wish you could've played."

"Me too. But I've got work here aswell."

"Yeah." But Nick seemed to cut short on that word. "Tom, what did you do to your hand?"

"What?"

"Hand, left hand, give." Nick held out his own hands and Tommy put his left one out, showing the band-aids from earlier.

"Oh, that. I cut myself picking up some broken glass."

"What'd you drop?" Nick questioned, not terribly worried what it would be.

"One of those cheap black mugs fell off the table. But I also dropped a plate earlier, too."

"Oh, Tommy, be careful with what you're doing."

"I know, I know. It's just not been a good day for me."

Nick hummed a bit, smiled reassuringly down at him, then placed a hand on the side of Tommys head to play with his hair a bit.

"You need a haircut." He said. Tommy just nodded as his eyes fluttered closed and he leaned into the touch.

"You're warm..." Tommy trailed off as he buried his face in Nicks shirt. Nick just kept rubbing his head.

"I'm gonna take a bath... you want to join?"

"Yeah." Tommy answered, allowing Nick to help him from the chair. He followed his boyfriend into the bathroom and watched as he turned the water on. As Nick was crouched low to the floor, Tommy let his eyes wander.
