Dawn was laying on his new bed. Well, 'his' new bed. It didn't really feel like his anymore.

Not after all that had happened.

And technically, it wasn't his bed, because they weren't even supposed to be in this house anymore.

Dawn was supposed to be getting all of his stuff together for the airship expedition, but instead he was curled up in his blankets, feeling regretful.

Uni was down with Nick, trying to bargain some more potions from him, as they were also getting ready to sneak into the village and get Ashlies stuff back.

Dawn felt that something was going to go terribly wrong sometime in the next couple of days.

He could hear Nicholas and Ashlie yelling at bunnies outside his door and all through the mansion.

Dawn sighed, unmoving from his spot on the bed.

He felt a single tear roll down his cheek.

He sat up and wiped it away.

"No." He whispered to himself. "Don't you dare fucking cry, don't feel sorry for yourself. This isn't about you."

But he couldn't stop the stream of tears. He held his face with his hands, trying to calm himself down.

"Stop!" He whisper-shouted at himself. "You have no reason to be crying! Stop feeling so sor-sorry for yourself." He hiccuped.

But he just let the tears keep coming, even though he didn't want to.

They just kept coming.

"Hey, Dawn, you coming?" Uni asked from outside his door. When did he get back?

But Dawn didn't answer because he knew his voice would crack, and Uni would then proceed to worry over him, which would only make his self-loathing worse.

"Dawn?"

He was not going to answer. Maybe Uni would think he wasn't in there.

And it worked. Sorta. Uni walked away, but he could hear him ask Ashlie where he was.

"Hey, Ashlie? Where did Dawn go?" It was muffled, but he could still hear the conversation.

"In his room."

"No, I just knocked, he didn't answer. I don't think he's in there."

"Well we came into the house together earlier and he hasn't come out of there. Maybe he fell asleep, you don't know."

"That's a good point. I'll just peek my head inside to see."

"Sure, knock yourself out."

Uni walked back over to his door, and Dawn quickly layed down facing the wall, half burying his face in the blankets, making it look like he had fallen asleep.

His eyes were closed, but he could hear the door open, the Uni sigh and stand there a moment before closing the door again.

He waited a moment for Unis footsteps walking away but heard nothing. Then he felt the bed dip under a new weight behind him.

Uni sighed, then rubbed his hand over Dawns hair.

"Come on, Dawn, gotta get up and help."

Dawn only shifted slightly in his 'sleep'.

Uni laughed lightly, and bent down to kiss the side of his head.
