(CL ~as~ Caitlynn Cox)
The dull thudding of the bass seemed so far away from the cozy darkness. In the dark she was warm, in the dark she was safe. It was so soft and quiet that she didn't ever want to move again. Sadly, Caitlynn had other ideas as she sat on Abi's stomach causing her to wake up rather forcefully.
Abi sat bolt upright knocking her small friend from her perch to the floor with and solid thunk. "Jesus, C! Can't you find a better way to wake a girl up," she groaned as she stretched her arms as high up as they'd go causing her shoulders to pop in the sockets.
"It's not my fault you sleep like the dead Abi, if I could find a better way to wake the sleeping bear I would," Caitlynn responded. Pulling herself up from the floor she brushed the imaginary dirt from her rear and sat back on the couch next to her best friend. Tucking a stray pink lock behind her ear she touched cold fingers to Abi's forehead. "Are you feeling okay? You kinda gave all of us a scare back there passing out like that," she murmured her small pixie like face pinched in concern.
She couldn't help but smile at her longtime friend as she pulled her in for a hug and murmured, "yeah I'm okay. It was just another panic attack."
"Well good cause I hafta pee and I don't think I can hold it for a second longer," the pink haired beauty exclaimed as she jumped up off the couch. She paused just as she reached a door and looked back at Abi tilting her head to the side. "You gonna be okay while I find a bathroom in this maze of an office," she asked looking almost desperate.
Abi rolled her eyes and shooed her off as she looked around what looked to be a dimmed office. Caitlynn shouted something about being right back as she ran through the door and into a much brighter hall. Chuckling she sat up more on a couch that seemed to swallow her up. Kicking off her shoes she curled her legs under her as she studied the massive wood desk across from her. Her mind drifted away from the opulent office and to the stranger with the beautiful grey eyes. Even after everything that had happened she remembered how small her hands had felt in his.
Curling her legs up to rest her chin on her knees she thought about how calm he seemed to be even with a woman hyper ventilating in front of him. Her thoughts paused there as she groaned and covered her face with her hands. Of course, she'd have to look like a crazy person in front of the first stunning male she could lay her eyes on! She could only imagine how she must have looked, eyes bugging out of her head, hair a rumpled mess from the amount of times she must have run her nervous hand through it and let's not forget the racoon eyes from the tear smudged mascara and eye liner!
Groaning she thunked her forehead against her knees. "Stupid stupid stupid! Why did you have to go and make a fool of yourself Abi in front Mr. Dreamy," she chastised herself quietly. Suddenly there was a soft chuckle making its way to her ears forcing herself to pause her self-hatred. Peeking up through her bangs her eyes landed on a well-built man leaning against the door frame.
Her face flushed as she looked at the cheeky smile of the all-American type male standing in the doorway. She let her forehead fall back to her knees wishing like hell the couch would actually swallow her up. Sighing she cleared her throat and mumbled, "please tell me you didn't hear that."
She felt the couch dip to her right as she assumed the man sat down next to her. The sound of his playful voice did nothing to sooth her panicked mind as he said, "oh don't worry kid! I heard every bit of it!"
She curled her arms around herself and peeked up at him from her knees, "I promise I'm not as crazy as I seem to look tonight." The statuesque blond through his head back as he laughed causing Abi's face to try it's hardest to match her face.
When he'd calmed down enough he pierced her with such crystal blue eyes it caused her tongue to get stuck on the sarcastic retort she'd been practicing in her head. Holding out a hand to her he gave her a friendly smile, "the names Mike, Mike Warner. I run the club you passed out in!"
His warm smile and infectious warmth helped her to relax enough to shake his hand, "Abigail Desirer. Sorry to have caused such issues in your club."
A blond eyebrow rose over his blue eyes a small grin making its way to his face, "oh this isn't my club kid! I just run it."
Abi's eyebrows knit together as she tried to piece things together. "If it isn't yours then whose is it," she asked the confusion clear on her face.
A throat cleared from the doorway and she looked up to see a mountain of a man standing in it blocking most of the light. Striding into the room the man gave her a chance to study his face and when it clicked she felt the blush go from her cheeks to the tips of her ears and down her neck.
The beautiful stranger from the club was now standing in front of her holding out his hand in greeting as his deep baritone washed over her, "my name's Dean Wolf, and welcome to my club."
