Will this ever end?

All I see is shady figures everywhere.

After that night one question kept circling in my head. Who was that woman?

Following her leaving me behind my dreams were mine again. That is until Castiel arrived with a small squad of ready-for-action angels. They were surprised to find me alone so they split up to find the source of the problem. While they were at it I told Castiel about the woman and what went down between the two parties. He believed me and asked for her name what I couldn't tell of course.

I was just as curious as he was. What kind of being could do the bidding of what an angel fails to accomplish without breaking a sweat? And she said something about trouble. This secrecy is getting worse by the day, mate.

As odd as it sounds I haven't seen her ever again but she came back once to see if I was doing okay. The thing is: she wasn't the same woman, I mean she was the exact person but not in the same body, I suppose. She looked different, that's what I'm trying to say. Anyways, she showed up to express her disappointment in me. She lamented over the fact that I didn't keep her existence hidden from Castiel as she instructed me to. And of course, I thanked her for her intervention but there is no way I'm gonna let her go on her own way without knowing who she is.

Fast forward to a few weeks later: things went back to normal. I was finally able to sleep without being bullied, humiliated or scared to death. I could work again too and help Bobby, the Winchesters and other hunters when required my assistance. I could once again enjoy the stories I read or heard and was able to leave the house for the first time in what seemed like an eternity. Now let me be clear on one thing, we're not talking about something major (for example: long distance travel) just trips to the shop and back.

I rode my bike to the supermarket every 3 days and picked up some essentials. The household won't run itself all alone. Of course, we could have gotten most of the stuff online and have everything delivered directly to the house but where is the fun in that?

(🎶Heart - Tall, Dark, Handsome Stranger)

One day I was cruising in Sioux Falls on the occasion of running errands. Upon arriving to my destination I dropped my bike, got a basket, and was about to begin my shopping spree when a random guy addressed me from afar. He was waiting near the entrance leaning against the wall with one leg up. He slowly turned his head and looked at me with dark eyes and a sardonic grin. It was obvious he knew who I was and me, well... I had only a few ideas.

As soon as I took a closer look I noticed the same shimmering light what I experienced once beforehand when I met Castiel. In his case it wasn't as shiny as Cas', more like dim and slowly fading. However, I was certain that what was in front of me was an angel in a man's body, a rather handsome one, not my type though.

I moved closer hoping that this way no one will overhear our conversation. I was no longer afraid to take few steps forward now that we've established that he's in fact a servant of Heaven.

The angel and I started chatting and as soon as it had a chance to talk more I've realised that I've met it before. It was the woman who saved me, now in a guy's body. This is confusing. Alright, let's put a side note here:

Angels are genderless. They are not male or female but each of them are an entity. To walk among humans, they need permission to let them basically possess their body. That's what we call a "vessel". So, when angels descend from Heaven they look for a body strong enough to hold them (regardless of gender, doesn't make much difference) they take it over and do whatever they were sent downstairs for. In the meantime angels can hop into new vessels if necessary and that's exactly what our friend did to keep his or her identity safe. Jumping from one human to another confuses both demons and angels too. They don't see who's behind the mask, only feel the difference. I assume it works similarly to my ability which helps me telling apart humans from occupied angel vessels. I can't say who I'm seeing only that it's a glistening supernatural creature. Moving on.

Regardless of the fact that he went to extreme lengths to keep his anonymity somehow it felt like I can trust him. Perhaps because he saved me once and didn't ask for anything in return. Good Samaritan with a halo hovering over his head. However, this also made me anxious. You never know when the bill comes due. Because of this I decided to keep my distance for a while and see where this encounter leads.

I pushed my luck a bit and asked him about details on why on earth would an angel like him save my most unimportant backside. Alright, I'm not gonna deny I must be special in some unwanted way, after all an ancient witch and countless demons were after me possibly since the day I was born. Still, angels? This doesn't fit.

As expected, he wasn't exactly chatty about this particular topic. The angel didn't talk about the specifics of his actions; however, he wasn't trying to keep distance either. The guy read me like a book and when he noticed my insecurity his reaction was both sweet and offbeat at the same time.

"Am I making you uncomfortable? It's the vessel, right? I see, blondies aren't your thing. Tell you what, I'll make a quick change. You just wait here and don't move. Be right back in a minute."

And he was gone. I mean literally in a blink of an eye he disappeared as if he was never there to begin with. I was left alone holding onto my empty shopping basket turning my head left and right searching the carpark. I must have looked dodgy to naked eyes as I was standing in the shadow of the building.

Anyhow, I waited as he asked. 3 minutes passed since I postponed my duties when I deeply sighed for that maybe he won't come back and the whole scene about his vessel was just an act. He played me, not like I had any idea how to stop him or anything. Still, I considered this as defeat.

I turned around to finally pick up where I left off before the stranger ushered me into the dark. If he wants something he'll come back anyway, right? At least I now know that he's with the nimbus guard meaning he mustn't be that bad.

As I completed a half circle and faced right the opposing direction as before a different voice called out to me. I looked over my shoulder and what I saw was another man standing behind me who I've never had the pleasure of meeting prior to that moment.

There was he with eyes of glowing blue. Same as Castiel's when he used his powers in my dream to scare the intruder off. This guy on the other hand, he wasn't attacking anyone, he was only looking right at me with a captivating smile and the body to die for. I felt me checks burning as my face turned red all over, like a teenager.

I couldn't say a word, I just looked at him. He was like a breathing sculpture, a living painting, a work of art. Thankfully, I haven't had to do anything, instead he took the lead by asking:

"So, where were we?"
