The Hamdeok amphitheatre crew wrapped up their performance for that year.
"That's it? They won't perform again?" Tiffany asked.
"Not until next year." Taehyung stepped aside to let an elderly couple walk down the walking trail.
"Why?"
"They have their reason. And I never ask."
Tiffany looked at Taehyung. "You know who runs this amphitheatre?"
"Not really. But I always come to see their performance every year."
Taehyung smiled, "and I have my reason." He continued before Tiffany had a chance to ask.
That girl was going to walk down the hill when she suddenly realized the enrupting view before her.
Taehyung leered at her and silently smiled. He knew exactly what Tiffany was seeing.
"What a beautiful sunset, isn't it?" He put his hands in his pockets.
Tiffany almost didn't hear his words, but she nodded. "I... I've never seen something like this before."
The deep orange sun slowly withdrew itself behind the blue curtain of the ocean. Millions of stars shyly blinked and decorated the twilight sky. The horizon hadn't completely turned into dark. The combination of a deep blue night sky and the orangish sparkles of the ocean made the world stop breathing for a few moment.
"Uhm, don't you want to perpetuate this moment?" Taehyung gently whispered in Tiffany's ear.
She turned around and found the vestial drop of the sun fell on Taehyung's gorgeous face, made him look so ethereal. Tiffany was caught off guard. She simply looked away and clumsily rummaged her purse to find her smartphone.
Taehyung waited patiently until Tiffany finished taking pictures of the twilight horizon. "You should thank me later for this beautiful view. If I didn't take you here, you wouldn't be able to see it." He simpered.
Tiffany leered. "Thank you."
Taehyung gave her a baffled glance. He never thought that girl would thank him that soon. "You're welcome." He gently smiled.
Tiffany stepped down the trail. "I guess this is it. The sun has already set in the west. I need to go back to the hotel."
"Hmm..." Taehyung squinted his eyes with his hands locked behind his back. "I'm not sure about that."
"What do you mean?"
"Look at the beach down." He made a subtle gesture.
Tiffany quickly looked at where Taehyung's chin pointed at. She didn't realize it before as her eyes completely focused on the twilight sky, but right now the Hamdeok Beach had been decorated with some torches. There was a small stage in the middle of the beach. Several crew were busy putting some musical instruments on it.
"What's going on?" Tiffany couldn't hide her curiousity.
"The Hamdeok Summer's Night Festival is about to start. I'm sure you don't want to miss it." Taehyung grabbed Tiffany's hand as they half-strode down the steps.
Tiffany had never thought there would be so many people gathering at the beach. Some opened special kiosks that sold many kinds of food and snacks. Some even sold different shapes of masks.
Taehyung took Tiffany to a fine kiosk by the sea that served Jeju's traditional food. They had some pheasant dumplings, buckwheat noodles, and a big portion of grilled sea bream for dinner.
