Sunset at Hamdeok

Chapter 5

Just before the morning sun showed its face, Tiffany left Taehyung who was still sleeping soundly. The sound of her heartbeat was louder than the sound of the crashing wave.

    Tiffany ran along the Hamdeok Beach until she found a taxi. She didn't have any courage to look behind, scared that Taehyung might be riding his white scooter and catch up with her.

    But Taehyung never loomed over. That very morning, Tiffany packed her bags and caught the first flight to Seoul.

    She leaned her head against the  window. As her plane left the Jeju Island, Tiffany closed her eyes and clutched her fingers. The scent of Taehyung's perfume still lingered. The taste of his sweet lips still remained. And the touch of his hands would stay forever.

    Tiffany bit her lips. Why did she so easily give in to his charm? No matter how hard she tried to erase it, the image of that romantic night kept looming over. Only the moon and millions of stars silently witnessed what she had done with Taehyung at Hamdeok Beach last night.

    Tiffany hoped she would never have to meet Kim Taehyung ever again. But... Deep down in her secret heart, Tiffany was wondering,  "will you look for me? Will you even remember me, Kim Taehyung ssi?"

When Taehyung opened his eyes, Tiffany had long gone. He could only look at her empty space. Taehyung sat and stared at the tranquil sea before him for hours. He knew Tiffany would not come again. Only God knew where she was right now. Taehyung threw a grain of sand. Was last night just a mistake they should forget by the next morning? Or did it have any meanings? All he knew, in the end, they were just two perfect strangers.[]
