Some years later....
Taehyung took Miyoung to Hamdeok Beach like he always did everyday.
"Daddy, look what grandpa Gong Yoo made for me!" That little girl proudly showed her pink kite.
Taehyung smiled and ruffled her pretty hair. "It's beautiful. Miyoung ah, don't play with your kite too far from Daddy, okay?"
That little girl nodded and quickly ran toward the beach.
Taehyung sat down at the same place where he had held and kissed his wife for the first time more than seven years ago.
As he watched his litte girl playing and struggling to fly her kite, Taehyung reminisced.
His bed felt too big for him now. His bedroom was always cold and empty even though he had filled it with so many furniture. And the flowers in his garden began to wither without someone to water them.
Tiffany had gone. His beautiful wife, his wonderful lover, his dearest angel had peacefully left this mortal world. She left him in her sleep and she left so silently.
After the funeral, Taehyung was thinking about ending his life. Maybe if he stopped breathing, he could see his wife again. But then his door bell rang.
When Taehyung opened it, a florist was standing there with a white rose and a small envelope. It was the same florist they had visited the other day. The florist gave the flower and the envelope to him.
Taehyung was shocked to see Tiffany's handwriting on the envelope.
"Tiffany ssi had made an arrangement to send you a white rose for the rest of your life. And she even entrusted me with several letters to be delivered to you everyday."
Taehyung tremblingly opened the envelope and read the letter inside. He was choked on his own tears when he saw his wife's lovely handwriting.
"Dear Taehyungie, if you read this letter, that means I am already in a place that is a little bit far from you.... Please forgive me that I have to leave this soon....
"Taehyung ah, do you still remember what I asked from you for my third birthday wish? I asked you to always listen to me. And you've promised me that you will grant my wish.
"I know you must be really sad and lonely right now because I am no longer there to hug you. But you have to be patient as I'll always be waiting for you here.....
"And whenever you think about ending your life just to see me again, please look at Miyoung. She still needs her father to take care of her, to teach her so many wonderful things in this world, to protect her and make her feel safe.... Just like what you did for me. And for that, I will always be grateful that God has sent you to me, to be my adorable husband, to be my spoiled lover, and to be the reason why I lived with no regrets in this world. Our time on earth was short, but it was so meaningful and precious to me....
"I love you, Taehyungie.... I really really love you.... I'm sorry I have to go for a while now.... But I know you will look for me, wherever I may be, I know you will always find me again someday.... "
Taehyung closed his eyes and let the evening wind stroke his hair. He thought his tears had dried and he could no longer cry, but he was wrong. His tears still fell down like a waterfall.
"Daddy," Miyoung called her father, "I can't fly this kite...."
Taehyung smiled and approached his daughter. "Watch Daddy fly your kite, sweetie."
In no time, that pink kite had been flying in the orange sky. Miyoung clapped her hands and jumped up and down seeing her little kite getting smaller and smaller.
"Daddy," that little girl looked at her father, "can my kite reach the place where mommy is right now?"
Taehyung knelt down and smiled, "yes it can. Mommy must be proudly watching us right now."
Kim Miyoung was one of the reasons why Taehyung didn't take his own life the day Tiffany passed away. He realized that his wife had risked her own life just to give birth to their daughter even though she knew she could lose her life for giving birth to that child. And it was because Tiffany didn't want Taehyung to be alone and lonely once she had gone, she insisted to deliver her baby into this world so that Taehyung would find a new meaning to his life.
"Daddy, look!"
Taehyung lifted Miyoung in his arms as they watched the sun slowly setting at Hamdeok Beach.
Fany ah, I miss you so much.... Everyday, every hour, every minute, every second.... It hurts to see that you're no longer here with us....
But I'll wait for you patiently... No matter how many years will pass, no matter how many seasons change, and no matter how long I have to wait, one day I'll come to you, to the woman that means more than a million lives to me, to the only home I know.
One day, I know I will find you again. I know we will meet again. I know you will hold me in your arms again. And when that day finally comes, I know we won't ever have to say goodbye anymore.... []
~THE END~
........................................................................
Finally, we have to say goodbye to this ff as it has reached its chapter finale. I hope you like this story as much as I enjoyed writing it I'm looking forward to your comments. Nothing makes me happier than seeing a wattpad notification pops up in my phone.
Truthfully speaking, I didn't plan the end to be like this, but the story flowed by itself, and I am only a story teller whose job is to convey the story to you.
I never meant Taehyung and Tiffany to have a child as it would be too similar to my other Vfany ff (The Taste of Tears), but if they were childless, I feel Taehyung wouldn't have a reason to keep living. He would eventually kill himself... So, that's the reason why Vfany has a child in the end.
The ending where Taehyung receives a white rose for the rest of his life was inspired by a true love story of Jack Benny (American comedian) who had made an arrangement with a florist to send a red rose to his wife everyday for the rest of her life after his death.
I listened to many Korean songs as I was writing this ff. And I'd like to share some with you. Those songs are: Heartbreak Hotel by Tiffany, Wind by Jung Seung Hwan, I Will Go to You like the First Snow by Ailee, With You by Lyn, Then Wonder by Sung Si Kyung, Flower by Seo In Guk, Beautiful by Crush, My Love by Lee Hi, All With You by Taeyeon, Back in Time by Lyn, Glass by Hwayobi, Love is Punishment by K. Will, Hee Jae by Sung Si Kyung, Etude of Memories by Kim Dong Ryul, Because I Miss you by Jung Yonghwa. And especially for the last chapter (chapter 38), I only listened to If (Can't Forget) by Park Jin Young (JYP).
These songs always make me emotional. I hope one day you can read this story again while listening to the songs above. Maybe your feelings won't be the same by then.
Thank you very much for reading Sunset At Hamdeok until the end. Thank you for your constant supports and loves all this time. I thought it would only be read by one or two readers, that's why I am extremely happy to know that so many of you read it. I apologize for all typos, inaccuracies, and grammar errors I made. Believe me, I didn't do it in purpose (but yes, there are some that I intended to be that way. Hehe). There are no other words I want to say more than this: Thank you very much for everything. 🙇
I guess we have to say goodbye for now. But don't worry, I've already had several new ffs in my mind. But maybe I'm taking some time to write about another Bangtan and Soshi members for my next fanfiction, although I will eventually be back with another Vfany ffs (I just love Vfany so much, I can't stop writing about them).
Stay healthy, and I'll see you later in another story, another universe!!!! (^o^)/
